Re: Unable to change admin password
Just because someone has not seen it in writing does not mean it does not exist. I have been told by FHC leaders that they would prefer to have the passwords left at the default passwords. It IS NOT policy - Also this may change. Plus https://familysearch.org/ask/salesforce/viewArticle?urlname=User-...

Re: Unable to change admin password
New admin is not supposed to be changed, change the old ones to match the new ones.

Re: Compare Streaming Methods for Gen Conf
I know that YouTube provides a lot of options – it can run on either Flash or HTML5, and you can manually select what quality you want to stream at. Too bad YouTube doesn't pass the Church Firewall Test! I would ask the stake president for permission to connect strait to the Modem and bypass the ro...

Re: LDSTech forum reverted to phpBB theme after logging in?
I like the new theme too (even if it isn't really "new" but a default theme). It took a minute to find the "unread posts" option, but it's nice to have the Back button working properly. With the old theme, I always had to click it twice. I agree, I think the site works better too.

Re: Firewall upgrade deadline
Just to add a reminder.
If your building has a webstat on what will become the public side, it MUST have its addressing set to dynamic BEFORE the upgrade. Otherwise FM will not have access to it. Arrangements need to be made first.

Re: New VidiU Webcast - Slow Receiving Laptops
I think someone is confusing "cap" and "actual". If the stream can be adequately described in a lower bit rate, the actual bit rate will be well below the cap. The system isn't going to add additional bits just to make up the difference. Thanks for pointing that out. Let me clar...

Re: Dedicated Receive Site Equipment
I would hold off buying anything including the Vidiu, they are constantly updating the portal and the Vidiu is going to be free to the Stakes that request it very soon.
Will still need several other pieces to the webcasting puzzle but we will take the free vidiu.

Re: New VidiU Webcast - Slow Receiving Laptops
My opinion, its being done to conserve resources. I am sure they were overwhelmed by the rate stakes are adapting to the new system.
As we all know Webcasting sorely needed updating. In time I am very hopeful the cap will be raised.

4 cores or lower is limited to 500kbs 8 cores and you can receive up-to the broadcast speed, confirmed by GCS I have not been able to get a solid answer as to why we can broadcast in HD but are limited to 500kbs on the receive side. I have buildings with FIOS and powerful quad core computers and eve...
