MIS was set up so that there were three levels of access and three generic logins and passwords. The top level was the equivalent to an MLS administrator, and the lowest level was very similar to an organization leader. The original instructions for MLS said that "each user requires a user ID, passw...

If you continue to have problems after a patch that cannot otherwise be identified, I recommend this solution. It has work for me several times.

Another way I have seen this done without giving out the list is for the bishop to let the Relief Society president know privately whether a sister has a current recommend or is endowed. My personal feeling is that the bishop needs to know about all of the members, and the RS president should know a...

Good call. It works as you suggested. A fresh install has all of the login data correctly shown.

CHQ will not be sending out CD's for the directory of leaders any longer. Church leaders can now log into a web site to get the information. They should have received a letter telling them how to get in. If they have questions they can call CHQ. Is this a new letter? If not, online access is limite...

On the second computer ... For example previous members of the ward who have since moved still show up and as enabled accounts with rights while on the source computer they are without rights or are completely removed. I'm guessing there is some part of the restore that isn't overwriting the previo...

I seem to recall a statement in an earlier thread that MLS requires administrative privileges due to some issues in the third-party software embedded in MLS to do transmit/receive operations. I searched for that statement but was not able to find it. The reference would be to the help desk, adamant...

Name Unknown

I ran across a lengthy list of members with the last name of "Name Unknown" along with their given names. Many of them have moved and no longer live in the ward. I tried a save and restore to force a new indexing of the database, but that did not solve the problem. So I requested a data refresh from...

Temporary vs Non-member

In MLS, what is the difference between the list of Temporary Members and the list of Non-members? I ran across this today while trying to help a ward sort out why none of the children were on the Primary rolls. The Temporary list had 42 on it, and the Non- list had 40. I was not able to discern any ...

Something we have found helpful is to add the line: RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED ... If they have moved and the U.S. Postal Service has a forwarding address for them, USPS will return the mail piece to the return address, with the forwarding address on it, ... This is correct and is what SHOULD happen....
