Re: Automatic termination of schedule webcasts

This is a good question. Did you ever get this answered? I've got to believe its after the actual broadcast start time.

Re: Min Bitrate & Max Bitrate

In my tests of the new webcast system (portal.ldswebcast.org) I've noticed that by default the system is setting the receiving feed at a very low bitrate (100KBps). This is even the case when doing a test receive webcast. If I manually set the min bitrate to 500 KBps however it jumps up the higher ...

Re: mass email to a given calling in each ward of the stake

@sbradshaw, yes, I actually have found the ipad version of the LDS tools app helpful because you can assign individual contacts to a group and then send an email to the whole group. Very nice! I can reuse groups, but I still have to check to ensure no callings have changed. It would be great if the ...

mass email to a given calling in each ward of the stake

I am a STS and often have the need to send an email to all the ward technology or AV specialist in each ward of the stake. There is no easy way to do this. Other leaders also need this kind of mass emailing. For example, the Stake Young Men's President would like to send an email to all the young me...

Sophos blocking DNS with reason of "Memory Modified"

I have had 3 clerk computers (running Sophos) suddenly lose access to the Internet. Upon further analysis and calls to support, we found that Sophos is blocking DNS requests with a reason of "Memory Modified". One support person had me disable the firewall as a work around. Not good. I fou...

Re: New Firewall Filter

I am a STS but haven't seen anything on this myself. Although, I've been on vacation this past week and may have missed it? I did hear that there was a big issue with the 881's getting some kind of change midweek which caused havoc but they got it fixed quickly apparently. I checked ours prior to co...

Re: 881W/1041N Maintainence Performed

Actually, I have no problem with using TM for this if that is an easy way to communicate such info. If I know I need to check that weekly, I'd gladly do that if I know there might be important announcements there. I did not experience any issues with the latest upgrade, but it is always nice to be i...

Re: 881W/1041N Maintainence Performed

I'm glad there were no problems and it sounds like the worked hard to minimize risk. However, when dealing in large numbers. even small risks will manifest themselves. I'll never forget the time early in my network career that I thought I could make a quick and simple change to a firewall and ended ...

Re: 881W/1041N Maintainence Performed

I noticed that also when installing a new 881 on Monday. So it states:
lds.org wrote: Exhaustive measures were taken to minimize impact.
Did those measures include letting us know about that maintenance in advance? Did I just miss it? Perhaps I'm just not on the right email list.

Re: Patriarch view of Directory

Our Stake Patriarch also asked me today if he could have access to see youth and ages across the Stake. Since he has seen that the Stake Presidency has that info on their LDSTools apps, he too desires it.
