Re: Setting static IP
So from what you showed in the IPconfig, it appears you have a second router behind the Church firewall. Perhaps it is setup to provide wireless access. If you are planning on keeping that second router in place, you have no defined static range and you are not limited on the number of mobile device...

Re: How to proceed after getting database error
Yes, tried that but alas, the MLS folks are closed on Sunday. I'll call them later this morning.

How to proceed after getting database error
We've been running fine when this week our computer started getting the following error after running almost any financial report: "There was an error while reading the database" with a sad face next to it. I thought for a moment that is was actually a mirror since I'm sure that's what my ...

Also, it would be helpful for messages sent through MLS to also be sent to clerks via the email address associated with their LDS.org accounts. Also, I'd like to add my support behind remote access as I would gladly remote in to my units to ensure that the upgrade would not hit on a Sunday. My furth...

TEM installed fine
We downloaded the TEM installer about a month ago from mls.lds.org and installed it on 8 computers we just refreshed without any issue. What's this? Something actually worked for me and not others? Unheard of!

I also called into the Desktop Management Team and was told to wait while she checked. After quite some time, she returned and said that they could not think of a good reason not to go 64-bit so long as I have a valid license. Since I have already prepared several machines with Windows 7 64-bit, I w...

LDSDrive
As the general user increases in knowledge about cloud technologies, they are going to use it regardless of policy, either intentionally or ignorantly. The solution is to architec a solution that meets the need and is non-intrusive. The obvious solution to me is for HQ to create a Dropbox or Skydriv...

1. Create a truecrypt volume. 2. Sync said truecrypt volume with dropbox. Data is safely encrypted and nobody without the password can access the files locally. I like that. I've used TrueCrypt for years on the USB flash drive I used to get, ehm, member data from the Church PC to mine where I ran a...

64-bit Windows 7 ok?
I searched for posts about this topic but did not find any so please excuse me if this has been covered. I am wondering if there is any problem running 64-bit Windows 7 with MLS? I just started as STS and my first project is to complete some MLS PC upgrades. The new PC's are Dell PCs with 4GB of RAM...

Hello all from a new 1 month old STS. The stake purchased a business plan for carbonite. I like the idea of using the kind of backup technology provided by Carbonite, Mozey, and others like that. I use Carbonite at home and at work. It makes it really easy for a user to recover their own data but al...
