Because they are supposedly "making changes" for how the Budget category will work, at present we are using an Open Org spread sheet to keep track of expenses, and will wait for the revised version to make budget allotments. Right now if you printed a budget report, you would see a couple of organiz...

No list fot Tithing Settlement allowed

Mikerowaved wrote:No problem. Here are some sanitized versions. Note, the document was created to mail-merge the full names, preferred names, and addresses from an exported ward list.

Your only problem with the letter is that you are no longer allowed to "post a list" for members to sign up for Tithing Settlement.

MLS Automatic Backup

With the transistion to CUBS and MLS 3.3.x, MLS no longer requires you to do a backup when exiting. It this going to be addressed so that it will be required again? I always remember to do a manual back-up, but I am going to have to change financial clerks in the near future and want to make sure th...

Our ward received the letter -- then our Stake said "Ignore it, you are getting less that what that letter says." In other words, SLC still sends the funds to the Stake and the Stake STILL determines how much will go to each ward. Our attendance in sacrament meeting has gone up every quarter for the...

Names

When I printed some Donor Statements last Sunday, the only name on the statement was that of the first name that was on the orignal donation. If the first name listed was the husband, that is what appeared. If the first name was the wife, that is what appeared.

Missionary Funds

Handbook (Book 1, [2006]) references: ⋅  Page 95 in the handbook: (right hand side, last paragraph) ⋅ Page 155 in the handbook: (right hand side, bottom of page - MISSIONARY FUNDS) Seems quite plain -- if you contribute to the ward missionary fund, there is no problem specifying ...

Partial Solution - updated training

One of the BEST solutions that I think could be done is for an UPDATED training on MLS & CUBS. The most recent update to the training modules is 2008. When they make major changes like this, they need to release updated training at the same time as it would greatly reduce the confusion, questions, a...

One of the things that is being missed here -- Clerks are called to "serve" -- having served for over 30 years in the Clerk's office, I have seen a wide variety of changes. So it takes a few seconds to write out a donor slip -- nothing at all what it used to be. On an earlier post, if it takes 2 hou...

financial error problems

It is so EASY to correct financial errors with MLS. When I was called a Finance clerk the first time (1974) it was all manual and the books had not been balanced in over 6 months. I spent hours going through old records and finally got it all corrected, and found the the final error was a Bank Error...

Missionary $$$

In addition to making sure that the donation for the missionary go into his specific account, make sure that you deduct the missionary funds every month from his account. We have several missionaries out, and it sure helps to keep things straight.
