another MLS admin can reset password

The Bishop of the ward should have full administrator privileges. You should be able to walk him through reseting the user's password over the phone while he is sitting at the computer.

PDF Sheet music for hymns and children's songs

Wow. Having an application that displayed hymns in the iPhone would be handy. Think pocket hymnal size. Think being able to switch from the English hymnal to Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, etc. This would probably start out as nothing more than a special PDF document that would be viewable in...

Recall that the Desktop 5.5 instructions told you to copy the Dialer.properties file located in C:\Program Files\LDS Church\MLS and restore it after the installation. Other subcatagories

Hi All Over the past few years our ward has gathered a large collection of "Other" catagories. I would like to get your opinion as how to best do this. It seems that for our youth you should be able to get by with: Young Men, Scouts, and Young Women. Joint activities could be split between Young Me...

Interesting and logical, but it doesn't match my actual experience. I have recently replaced hard drives completely, reimaged with Desktop 5.5, installed MLS, restored MLS backups (that precede the last send/receive), and done a successful send/receive. Never have I had to reset the security. So I ...

Print certificates from MLS

One thing that we really shouldn't forget is that while the certificates are not very flashy in MLS, they are a standard certificate that has an "authorized" church logo on it. It also is the only valid certificte that we are able to use should we ever need to prove our priesthood for something lik...

MLS on virtual machines

From previous threads, it seems like it won't work (that MLS assumes there is only one installation per machine). However, perhaps you can load up Virtual PC or VMWare Player and run a VM? Then again, maybe that's a bad idea if your hardware specs are those of a standard Ward machine. Another free ...
