Broadcast downloads for DVD burning

I would like to suggest consideration of a secure download ability for those properly called to be able to download and burn to DVD the broadcasts so they can be stored in DVD format. This would make their job easier and enable us to free up space in our libraries. I've had this same thought and ag...

Meetinghouse Internet

We would love to lose the dial tone, but for those stakes not on the internet beta test (and in buildings without approved FHC or CCN), is there a date when our stake presidents can request internet connectivity for all of their units? Last I heard was by the end of the first quarter '08. Has anyon...

Event pictures on LUWS

3. We've called a Ward Photographer, but there's really no place to post event pictures (Ward parties, work projects, scouting trips, etc.) other than snapshots on the wall outside the Bishop's office. LUWS just seems like a great place to be able to post these kinds of things without having to lin...

Copy and Paste MLS report data in delimited form

I am new to MLS (just called as the Ward Clerk). I know I can export membership data to .csv files that I can later import into Excel etc., but I would like to know if it is possible to use the "Print to a file" feature for any of the canned MLS reports the same way? What other programs (...

MLS Backup Location

A ward clerk recently commented to me that it was sure nice to not have to insert diskettes in the computer anymore, now that MLS was backing up to the hard drive.:eek: It appears that if someone neglects putting media in the drive when MLS is about to do its backup, MLS will default to s...

In out Stake we have been asked to enter the weekly attendance records of Sunday School, Elder's Quorum/Relief Society and Primary, but we were only able to find the quarterly attendance report. Does MLS have the capability to enter a weekly attendance? No it does not. Make sure that people in your...

It would be nice in the "new" LUWS to have the ability to show all Executive Secretaries from the units (or any calling for that matter). There are times when leaders need to make calls to all Bishops or Clerks or RS Presidents, and it would be nice to have a quick list created on the LUW...

Temporary alternative for publishing ward lesson schedule

In another thread, I mentioned what wards in my stake are doing for the time being. Each ward is creating a calendar event for Sundays, that indicates which lesson or conference talk is scheduled for that week.

The new MLS has the ability to IMPORT and EXPORT custom reports. To EXPORT, click on the "Export" link on the far right hand column of the Custom Reports list. You can save the file and then email it out to others. To IMPORT, click the IMPORT button on the bottom left, and search for the ...

Exporting/Importing MLS custom report parameters

On more than one occasion I have created a custom report in MLS that I wanted to share with another unit. The only way I have found to do this is to document the criteria and format information and pass it on for manual creation in the other unit's MLS. A useful enhancement to MLS would be the abili...
