For evaluation of this specific piece of equipment, eXtreme Radio Service TSX300 I checked with our local Ham Radio ERS Net Control person. He remarked that this specific equipment seemed to drain battery power very quickly and that readablility was not all that great within his suburban highrise en...

Custom Member Fields for Extra Phones & E-mail Addresses

To counter such expected, but missing, phone data, we've added Custom Member Field, Telephones. Note plural form of noun, Telephone. With this field, each individual can now have their individual cell phone(s) listed as well as other "land line" phone numbers. We use Custom Reports to &quo...

I tell Registered Users that they can add their personal portable phone number just to the right of their Preferred Name within Update Profile . All 10 digits display well and additions, deletions and changes are almost immediate. If these same Registered Users prefer, I can delete their home phone ...

We're back here on the East Coast of the US of America.

Our LUWS Membership Directory is only updated once a week,
on Tuesdays.

For Ward Web Administrators, our list of Registered Users is only updated
once a week on Wednesdays.

Which state or location is updated daily?

Older Chapels have Large Windows in Clerks' Offices

With larger windows comes risk that something, someday, might just come flying through those windows. Our ward has invested in a powered USB hub so that we can plug in, at most, 4 flash drives at the same time. We chose brand, Belkin. It comes with a USB cable and AC to DC converter with cable to po...

Printing a PDF File Resets Printer Default

Previous evening, Ward Clerk & I were creating an abbreviated Membership Directory. We used MLS print function to create a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. Following day, after transmitting "Send and Receive Changes", MLS prompted, asking me if I wanted to print a copy of Membershi...

I've messaged a few of our forum comments over to a ward associate at USGS. Maybe he'll eventually join us or e-mail me back. He has a GIS degree from BYU. Years past, I've seen people walking around our neighborhood wearing backpacks having a long protruding antenna topped with a flat sauser type t...

During late 1990's I attended several ESRI sponsored classes using ArcView. There we were able to select on house locations and receive lat/long. Reverse would be possible too. Actually USPS was with FedGov when Zip Coding first began in early 60's. Too bad we can't access their data base in some wa...

UPPER CASE Negatively Effects Web Page Display

We've been using on-line USPS site for years to authenticate and to format. Problem with upper casing is that it really degrades address display within Membership Directory on LUWS, as well as on some MLS output. Proportional fonts always assign more horizontal space to capital letters than to those...
