Some things we have done to alleviate some of the headaches of multiple users of the unit computer is lock a bunch of the settings that are accessible. You can setup policies or registry entries to lock down most things in Windows. Since the MLS account (Clerk account) is admin those changes could b...

General Practices for the Student Single Stakes: Tier 1 callings: Stake Presidency, Stake Clerk, Stake Executive Secretary, Patriarch, Bishops New Bishops need to be added to the Stake MLS (basically the same step as adding any stake leaders as out-of-unit). Every other out-of-unit member for the wa...

MLS suggestion, cancel transaction button.

I was recently working with one of the Ward Clerks in my stake, and I noticed him pushing a bunch of people to the lost member file without using the standard procedures (calling last phone number, email, previous bishop etc..). I told him he needed to attempt contact with each member before sending...

I've had success using Indesign for ward directories too (love the page layouts). Out of most peoples price range, but it works well with the export files. You just have to add a column for the image file location. I would use a program like irfanview (poor man's photo editor) to resize and rename i...

Under View/Update expenses, you should be able to click on the check number. When the expense comes up, you should be able to click on the category and change it to the appropriate budget one (right hand side, click and a magnify glass should appear and you can select a new category). Click save and...

Also, The Stake Finance Clerk will review the deposits for the previous year after the Tithing reports have been submitted (sometime after January 31). Deposit discrepancies will be listed on the report sent by Church HQ which the Clerk will compare to the year-end deposit report submitted by each W...

We recently added support for out-of-unit leaders (like Bishops in YSA wards) to view both their home ward, and their out-of-unit ward. In a soon-to-come release (probably in July) we will give these out-of-unit leaders rights to manage photos as well, but until then, they'll need to rely on their ...

We have two branches in our stake. According to policy the Branch Presidents maintain their individual membership records with their home wards and have an "out of unit" record created in their branches. When they sign into the beta maps site, they can only see the people in their home ward and not...

The stake capabilities are included in the product roadmap and will come later. Good to here, I already see several boundaries we need to fix in my own Stake. The Stake side of a tool like this is making sure ward and stake boundaries are accurate. I'd still like to see the clerk functions granted ...

Maps are looking great. One question, is there going to be stake level access? The ward administration is fine, since that is a ward level responsibility. However, as a stake officer, I would like to be able to view all my stake's ward boundaries so I can verify information. Also for training purpos...
