If support services says they received the check and after your next send/receive you still get the error, just go into the reconciliation for that month and clear the check on the expenses tab. One of my wards had this problem and nothing from support services did anything to fix it, clearing it on...

Minus the website restricted settings, (which you can leave in place) the default church settings leave a lot of holes open. So the default settings are actually more secure than the church settings. Out of curiosity, has anyone looked to see exactly what the church settings are? I can understand th...

My stake had a dilema about what type of network to use. The building is old (circa late 50s) and made out of cinderblock (only sheetrock is where a wall was installed to divide a few rooms). We contemplated running cat5/6 but it was a big mess trying to get it into every office, so we compromised a...

Old computer drive swapping does not work with the 740 since it uses a sata interface for all its drives (Older computers used pata also known as ide). I ended up just pulling all the hard drives out of the computers and rotating them through a master station. The 5.5 cds were made with a program ca...

I remember having to change some values in the registry in order to make the options editable. I'm not going to recommend that because one mistake could hose your entire computer. If you really want to remove it, though, google it and you'll find the steps, too. However, the simplest way is to find...

Optiplex 740 and Desktop 5.5

Second there is a restriction that any other software must be approved by the stake president (not in the 2005 version). But then it must also not interfere with the operation of or compromise the security of the Church software and data already on the computer. The security of Church software and ...

Internet Explorer Security Settings

I was wondering if anyone found a work around on the Internet Explorer security settings. The administration image from desktop 5.5 uses a custom security level for iexplorer, which disables some standard security features that explorer 7 does not like turned off. If you update to explorer 7, the us...

High Council order MLS bug 2.9.3

High Council call order is not being preserved. Really annoying to have to play musical chairs with the officers sustained list every Stake conference. MLS seems to rearrange them by something other than date sustained after initial entry (I tried removing and re-adding, re-arranging call order etc....

Deep Freeze is employed on a large scale at the University I work for. I run it on Macintosh systems, but PC's are similar. Deep Freeze basically freezes the state of the computer after installed and "frozen". It means that any changes made to the computer will be reset after a reboot. Its biggest a...

September 28 transmit

Same old transmission issues again. It would be nice if we could get a response on these system overloads. Sending the next day is fine, but it can put a burden on over worked clerks to come up to the building on an off day. I hope the Church gets these issues worked out, because it is becoming more...
