Re: Insuring that ordinations are recorded

I've tried keeping lists, which can be a reliable tool for some Bishops but not all. I've moved to printing interview forms as soon as I hear that an ordinance is pending. The forms go on the Bishops desk, and most times I get them back with the information needed. I prefer to have a certificate rea...

Re: HELP, what to do with all the members we cannot locate

It sounds like you and your ward are doing a great work. Leaders are bringing members together to serve those in need. And with each contact there is a chance to share the gospel, even in a small way. Consider involving the full-time missionaries in this great effort. Many, Many, years ago before se...

Re: How to keep track of "do not contact" members?

My current unit somewhat identifies members that have specified they don't want to be contacted by creating home teaching and visiting teaching routes with just those members on them. The special routes tend to be assigned to the Bishop and Relief Society President, which seems to eliminate confusio...

Re: Advice For New Clerks

Thank you Brother Eric. As one who technically qualifies as a Master Ninja of MLS, your encouragement and challenge is appreciated. I feel new to my responsibilities as resources for maintaining records and taking care of clerical duties migrates to an on-line format. It's encouraging and daunting t...

Follow-up Windows CPU and Network monitors indicated brief (fractions of seconds) flashes of activity separated by essentially none. Nothing consistently high. And most (guessing 99.9%) of the 4 hour download included "cdol" in the path. Don't know why we would need cdol files locally. Goo...

Something's choking, or there's a software design issue. Our send/receive started about 2.5 hours ago. If the progress indicator is correct we're about 1/2 way through. Our meeting block is about to start, and I'm concerned that MLS won't be functional for processing donations. We may need to cancel...

Saw the 2 minute Bishop Burton video but can't bring up the actual training. Firefox in Windows 7 freezes, and Flash plugin crashes every times so far.

Any ideas about resolving Flash plugin errors, or is the site overloaded? It's Sunday evening currently.

Consider that your unit printer may be limited to maximum paper weights/thicknesses. Find a users manual or online reference to review. It may also have build-up or damage to feed rollers or feed clutches, and not feed heavier paper easily. Cleaning rollers requires a little experience or a technici...

I hope the following opinions will be helpful. While I agree that unit finances need to be well managed and we have solemn responsibilities to be good stewards of Church funds, I struggle with adjusting policies or controls that suddenly or eventually add significant time and complication to our liv...

Don't know yet what TEM is, but it sounds promising. Searching for it offers a lot of temple and statement findings. Now I have new reasons to cite for slow PC function and back-ups. But I also can't suggest removal of financial statements any more. It sounds like maintenance perspectives need a lit...
