Are regional conferences available via the Internet?

This question may have already been addressed, but I couldn't find it searching. Our next stake conference will be a regional conference which I assume will be broadcast to our stake center via satellite. Our stake is too large to fit in the stake center in one session, so I see three alternatives/q...

If you have access to an oscilloscope, you might look at the waveforms coming out of it, with proper termination, of course. If I remember correctly from KBYU-CC days, the sync pulse is 0.4V below zero and whitest white is 1.0V above zero. Much consumer equipment is AC-coupled, which loses the zero...

I thought I would piggyback on this thread to share our most recent web casting experience. We just had stake conference this last weekend (May 30-31). Last December we borrowed a prototype webcast kit from church headquarters, while this time we used our new purchased kit. We did a test run last We...

organ music

While on the topic of organ music, I have a question... When we did our first stake conference webcast last December our remote location lost the organ postlude music following the meeting because those on the stake center stand turned off the microphone. We still had a video feed, but no audio. So ...

Russell, Good point about the piggy-back cable messing up the impedance. I wondered if it would work at all. I was pleased that it worked better than the RF modulated/demodulated signal. But that is why I bought the piggy-back cable instead of a Y-cable - to keep the stub to minimum length. There ma...

conference video streaming

We held our stake conference this weekend, so I thought I would post some follow-up lessons learned since our initial test of the streaming kit. First of all, I bought some "piggy back" RCA patch cords. This allowed me to pick off both audio and video prior to the RF modulator but still drive the mo...

Video streaming kit

Our stake will hold stake conference next weekend (Nov 22-23) and it will be our first session to use video streaming via the Internet so that we can hold one session in two buildings. We were able to borrow one of the evaluation "kits" that the church is developing. Yesterday we installed the equip...

Our stake is in line with tsheffield's suggestion to wait. We just got our Internet installations in place. I have talked with a few other stakes that have been doing conference video streaming using various methods. One stake I spoke with has already tested the "new" church solution and gave rave r...

We just completed the installation at our stake center and are getting ready to install at the other buildings in our stake. We choose to run CAT5e cable to each clerk's office. We will also place one or two wireless access points in each building to give wireless coverage of the bishop's offices, t...

Our stake has been evaluating this same question and has finally decided to move forward with an Internet installation to each building. I think most our reasons have already been stated, but here is our list: - Faster MLS transmissions. All of the clerks will appreciate this - especially on Sunday ...
