Local Church History website

2012 will be the 175th anniversary of the restored gospel being preached in the UK. It will also be the 30th anniversary of our stake being organised. As part of a project to celebrate these anniversaries our stake leaders would like to have a way to collect member submitted material about the histo...

YSA Centers are similar to what the US would call an Institute of Religion, combined with a YSA program. They are located mostly in European and Scandinavian countries. There is a reference about three paragraphs up from the end of this biographical article that provides a short description of them...

Just a guess, but if they had access to the classic LUWS while in your unit, they should have been added by a stake administrator through the classic LUWS system as described here. While he was serving on his mission, he served as branch clerk and a he was added as an out-of-unit membe...

For myself, I've always done it that if I get a $1000 paycheck (before tax), that I pay $100 to the church. Any taxes that the government decides to refund because of the donation comes back to me. I had not considered that since I wouldn't be getting that portion back if I didn't make a donation m...

I have to admit, I'm kind of puzzled too. I guess my question is, what else is going on to make it necessary to use a calculator? I'm ignorant of the factors behind this. The main benefit is working out the Gift Aid rebate that the UK Government allows the Church to claim from the donors income tax...
