Re: Strategy for playing "Come, Follow me"

Let's not get too hung up on the videos - the are just another teaching resource available among many others, to help the youth feel the spirit. I'm not getting "too hung up on the videos." The subject of the thread is the best strategy to play them. It is changing almost weekly as people...

Re: Strategy for playing "Come, Follow me"

Well, this conversation seems to be fragmenting, partly due to lack of direction. I will be distributing USB sticks will all video files on them to the relevant teachers with a quick overview of how to use them on the TV. Seeing as we only have 2 TVs it is going to have to come down to a first come ...

I just tried playing one of the MP4 files on the both the LG 32" LCD TVs directly through the USB, and it played fine. I'm going to get a 16Gb stick, put them all on it and see which ones play and don't play.

Re: Strategy for playing "Come, Follow me"

I also wanted to add, that my ideal solution would involve the church purchases inexpensive android devices with TV out capabilities, installing the Mormon Channel App and customizing the device to auto load the app on boot. A device configured this way could cost $50 and provide the church with a ...

I'm half way through gathering all the videos for next year (bored at work) - and will soon have (bar a couple of missing links) all the videos downloaded and organised by YM / YW / SS and then by month. They're just the original MP4 files, but at the highest available quality. Once I have them all ...

The most cost effective thing for the church to do would be to make downloads available from a central resource. After that, people will make their own decision about either burning DVDs, loading onto smart phones or tablets, or using a media player solution. We need to remember that the videos aren...

In my opinion a menu that needs to be forced open is either hiding things that should be more obvious to a visitor, or isn't well publicised enough. Might I suggest a 'what's new' popup like on the calendar etc - so that people can be notified of what they can find in there, and then given a chance ...

We had that when a particularly large EFY bill came out before we had collected all the funds. Stake came to the rescue to tide us over until the next LUBA payment came in.
