There is some interesting discussion regarding this going on over in this thread: https://tech.lds.org/forum/showthread.php?10382-YouTube-access-blocked . I posted a blurb about the Youtube Terms of Service, and how it seems to indicate that using another program to download videos is a violation of...

Generally, most of the videos found on the Church's YouTube channel are also found in the LDS.org Media Library , as well as in the video section of MormonChannel.org . Both are accessible through the meetinghouse internet firewall. Unfortunately, many of the videos on both these locations are now ...

Many people calling in these private events to be scheduled through the building scheduler will not be able to see in advance whether resources are available unless they have edit rights to any calendar. That is not ideal. When the request is called in, the building scheduler can check the calendar...

One request I've had from my building schedulers is to have a building calendar that is visible to the members. The reason for this is to aid leaders in scheduling events. Right now, they would pick a day/time and resource, then check to see if the building is available. However, it would be nice fo...

You cannot copy over the entire file structure now. You'd have to know exactly which subfolder (I think it's data) and even then, it will replace the current contents with what they were. It is not a merge. I don't think it's worth the hassle. The unit can request any old finance statement. Just ha...

As I read your first paragraph, I was sure you were talking about the monthly Unit Financial Statements. But now you seem to be talking about the annual Official Tax Statements that the ward can print out for each donor. That is a completely unrelated topic. Are you also having problems with printi...

I have replaced several computers in the stake (a few more to go), but one of the units emailed me and mentioned that they were unable to print out any financial statements from December. The information is listed, but they can't bring up any statements. Alan mentioned in another thread that saved f...

When setting up new computers, do you usually manually run windows update? When does landesk push out updates? I wanted to set the IE home page to lds.org, but the computer is running xp, and comes with IE 6, which is incompatible with the new lds.org. The optiplex 580's I have just received from ou...

I definitely won't be making any changes myself. I was tasked with looking through the forum to see if there was any general consensus on how to handle our situation. Our stake clerk and financial clerk will actually be doing the work. Our plan was, as you have pointed out, to put our categories bac...

I'm just the STS, not the stake financial clerk, so I have to say, I know enough about this to be dangerous. But what I saw was a report that had a root level category called Authorized Member Financed Activities (I don't recall seeing an Other: in front of it). This category had a large number of d...
