Re: PORTAL ENHANCEMENT 12

This is more than confusing. The idea of a stable, standard HTML 5 video player is great. The idea of two doesn't make sense. They don't seem substantially different from the user perspective. Why make two available? In my testing, the HTML 5 players are both much less resource-intensive than the Si...

Re: VidiU software

Even without a password, if WiFi is turned off, there is little chance of this happening. Though now that you mention it, I'm going to go lock it down on mine.

Re: Suggestions for Receiving Computers 720p HD

After some research on processors and comparing processors on test machines we has that worked to older processor benchmarks, we went with refurbished Dell Precision M4600 laptops for $365 each http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16834299244 I will post back here after testing with them...

Suggestions for Receiving Computers 720p HD

We are starting testing hoping to move from using Slingboxes to using the official broadcast system through a Teradek VidiU encoder. In testing, we have found that anything less than the HD setting and receiving at 2.1 Mbps produces very poor video quality. None of our stake's laptops have quad core...

Re: Women's General Session link to YouTube

I was going to try to use a laptop to stream for increased video quality at our stake center for the women's broadcast, but 30 minutes before, I tried to connect and it was a YouTube link for me as well. I had to switch everything over to the satellite at the last minute. I had done a lot of testing...

Re: Next-Gen Meetinghouse Webcasting Project

I just completed the new STS training, and they mentioned that the Church is recommending a hardware solution that is supposed to work much more reliably with the new webcast technology. They also mentioned that it's supposed to go live within the next 2 months (they said March). Have you (or anyone...

Re: Meetinghouse communicator box

Windows XP Embedded continues to be supported and receives security updates until either 2016 or 2019 depending on which version the Meetinghouse Communicator was built on. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/windows-embedded/archive/2014/02/17/what-does-the-end-of-support-of-windows-xp-mean-for-windows-embedde...

I would be interested in an answer to this post. I've just been called as a Ward Mission Leader and I would really like some tips from anyone else who might be using an iPad for this calling.

It would really be awesome to watch the live stream through XBMC. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make that work? I think it's an rtmp stream, but it gets bounced around a hundred times and I can't figure out what the final URL should be.

Great job on the plugin!

It should not take nearly this long. It has been pointed out before that the extreme slowness is due to the backup operation using unbuffered writes. A patch was even submitted to correct the issue, but it has never made it into the official MLS builds, unfortunately. It should take less than 1 seco...
