Re: Additional VLANs?
When setup for stake conference broadcasts a separate switch gets setup for the cameras and audio equipment and the broadcast PC bridges between this switch and the building switch for internet access. There are a couple of places where there's an existing run going to the building switch that I'd l...

Additional VLANs?
The new network switches and control options in TM are great, and a welcome addition to helping manage the internet and wireless in the buildings. While there's certainly more network traffic these days with regular Sunday streaming, even just looking at stake conference broadcasts to other building...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
Seems its just not possible to email anyone on the tech side of the church webcast platform directly to answer my questions, and trying led me here, so following is my experience (and frustration)... Your problem is you're using the church's webcast system, it's never had great quality on the strea...

Re: REQUEST: Please put your clerk computers under management
Second on russellhltn's question, and then add to that question: 6 of the 9 units in my stake are on the list of computers that need to be added, including the 3 computers I just replaced with new units from headquarters last year. I know those 3 computers are running IBM Bigfix since they were firs...

LCR Donations stuck, no Global Services?
We're having problems finishing donations in LCR after the bishopric member signin we just get a spinning wheel . Tried to call global services, but every option says they're not open. Does that seem a little crazy to anybody else that global services is closed when they roll out a new way to do don...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
That was kind of the line I was thinking down, the system we're using right now automates that either way.russellhltn wrote:I'm thinking you may want links that change periodically, perhaps every few months. Otherwise, it gets hard to cut someone off who no longer qualifies or to prevent word from getting around.

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
We are using YT Live almost exclusively, due to the far superior audio and video available. (Last Sunday I streamed in 1080p/60 at 8Mbps.) I asked my stake president if it was drawing near the time to make the YT links "Unlisted" and let the bishops give them only to those in need. He sai...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
Clearly, they haven't read it. Yes, before the edit, the only cameras in the chapel was for stake conference. But 29.7 is clearly about all of the ward meeting, especially sacrament meeting. Yup, clearly, as anybody who has read it would have noticed the clearly defined sections specifically talkin...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
FWIW when we've done the Zoom -> YouTube Live for Stake Conference, the quality was awful and the audio sync was bad as well. The video quality on Zoom just by itself has always been worse for us than YouTube Live, and going from Zoom to YouTube seems to lose a bit as well. We've continued to use Yo...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
... My question is... Do I need to be doing some kind of file system maintenance with this? Should I be running fstrim or some other utility on occasion? ... You're welcome, I've got another update I'm getting ready to push here to help deal with some of the YouTube API changes that recently went i...
