Are we allowed to use the church PVC system for this? Is there any reason not to use it?
I know a stake that uses WebEx for stake conference.

Broadcast from multiple locations
My SP is pushing us to figure out if this can be done. It seems like a logistics nightmare but would be wonderful if we could pull it off. I'm still learning how to do a broadcast from one location (I've asked a few questions and will likely ask more) so I can't even pretend to know if it's possible...

Sony Handycam HDR CX240
We're a new stake and the FM group is sending us a Sony Handycam HDR CX240 which they say is now standard issue from the church. But here on tech.lds.org and on meetinghouse tech everything points to the Sony EVI-D70 or D80. Is our FM group wrong? It doesn't make much sense to me. The CX240 doesn't ...

Re: Dedicated laptops for receiving webcasts in all building
Thanks for the sound advice. I'll probably recommend against getting a laptop for each receiving location since they've all received broadcasts before and we haven't heard of it being a problem. We will have Assistant STSs at each location; they'll be able to take care of it well.

Dedicated laptops for receiving webcasts in all buildings
We have heard that a common problem with webcasts in receiving buildings is that a ward member's laptop is used and each one ends up being different and requires different setup instructions and runs into different problems. Have you guys experienced this? It was recommended to us by another STS tha...

ISP Details in TM
In Technology Manager, who's in charge of filling in the Internet Provider details? Some of the buildings have the details filled in while others do not. Is it the FM group that's in charge of maintaining the contracts for internet? Should I ask them for the details and fill it in myself?

What's the white box used for in this meeting house network?
See the attached picture. I can account for everything except for the white box in the middle of the picture. It seems to be functioning as just some sort of pass-through. The connection to the ISP comes into the back via a large white cable then out the front via a small green cable. Our two WAPs g...

rknelson, have you thought about sharing the source code in addition to the compiled packages? Then others could help support it, or create their own versions.

Collaborative Gospel Study Platform
For many years, I've been thinking about a collaborative gospel study platform. You would be able to annotate the scriptures, conference talks, manuals, and other content from LDS.org to share thoughts or questions with a select group of other people. Groups could include family, friends, ward membe...
