So is there a limit to the amount of calendars we can create? I am creating a road map to help get our stake ready for Oct. 2011

I think you're wise to start entering events earlier. Is anything being done to educate leaders in your stake.

Curious to know how you are preparing during transition to real calendar in 2011. How are people educating stake and local leaders? Are you pretending to populate events for now to populate it? I assume we should people prepared to start entering real events in October or November when we start prep...

Are you using beta.lds.org for this?

The church is quietly preparing a beta launch, involving at least a new calendar and stake directory in the next few weeks. I will assume the beta lds.org will part of this. It is scheduled to remain in beta for most of the year until the final will be released in time for 2011 planning.

Looking at the new lds.org in labs, links to calendar and directory are included along with your current callings. At some point, I believe this will all be linked together. I've asked for an updated timeline to see if the beta calendar will be still be released tomorrow or not.

Here's the response I got from the church involving the calendar currently in labs.

The next release for the new local unit calendar is set to release Jan 27th through beta.lds.org (open to all ... english only at first, followed by additional languages) - we're pushing hard to hit that date

Looks like progress is being made on the test site.

So if I understand you correctly, we're at the very beginning stages of any LUWS 2.0? Any better idea when any upgrades will be rolled out to the membership at large?

This program has worked seamlessly for me. After one initial download, I have info from entire stake on iPod Touch. Very impressed so far. I love how it will automatically map contacts for me.
