Re: Cisco 800 Series firewalls to be replaced

So we did get a replacement Meraki AP and the existing 2 Cisco AP's are still in place. However, I don't seem to have access to cycle the Cisco AP's (enable/disable) them, but I do for the Meraki.... This will start to impact Webcasts if we don't get this quickly solved or figured out.... I do like...

Re: Problem with internet connection due, possible, to erroneous Windows 10 upgrade

The first most basic step you should take is to identify if it is the computers or the network connection being slow. Bringing in a personal laptop, turning off your Wifi, and plugging into the network where the computers are located can help identify the problem. If the laptops are slow to open web...

Re: Can't see any Access Points from FW

TM only sees APs when the firewall "phones home". If it doesn't phone home with the AP data, TM assumes there aren't any APs. If the internal AP is not being phoned home, there may be an issue with it that will need to be fixed. If you have multiple APs, make sure that they aren't behind a...

Re: Cisco 800 Series firewalls to be replaced

Also, they specifically mention "TM-managed firewalls". I wonder if this will impact the TM tools we've grown to love. TM will still be managing all meetinghouse firewalls. We will be moving to Meraki firewalls, APs, and switches (although optional). We will be replacing all 881 (881W, C8...

Re: LDSWirelessNetwork SSID in chapel

That is not the standard Church SSID. My guess is that either they are rogue routers, routers nearby, or someone installed non church equipment in the meetinghouse and chose LDSWirelessNetwork as the SSID. All correctly installed WAPs are centrally controlled and managed meaning that all if the SSID...

Re: 881W firewall limiting port throughput

Our FM manager has said we're scheduled for replacement this year. With what, and when, who knows? Something tells me it will be more of the same. Yes, there is a major firewall upgrade scheduled for later this year and extending into next year. The Cisco firewalls (all models of the 881 firewall) ...

Re: Firewall Losing DNS Settings?

Is this a problem with the firewall router, or is the church having a problem with their dns sever generally, any advice would be appreciated. (I am the stake technology specialist btw) This is not a firewall issue. The firewall doesn't handle DNS lookups. It is only the means of telling end comput...

Re: Adding additional AP's. Compatibility?

No. Those Access Points are not supported. Even if they could connect to one of our controllers and work properly, they would not show up on tm.lds.org and you wouldn't be able to control them. And, if anything happened to them, the GSC couldn't and wouldn't support them. All access points should be...

Re: BUG: AP missing from TM

Possibly. But you wouldn't want to do it on the doubled AP but instead the missing AP. It was the missing APs that had the incorrect name associated with them.
