Re: Mass Texts
I've found that a lot of carriers block email to text anymore. Too much spam. Remind still has a free tier from what I can see. It has a 150 person per class cap. If you need more than that for your whole ward you could split it into Elders and Relief Society and then just send to both for general a...

Re: Interesting power issue with new audio/video system
On the bottom programmable power strip, outlets 2, 3, & 4 turns on. When 2, turns on, the HDMI distribution comes back to life, and the Extron HDMI faceplates come back on. I'd report it to FM. All they'd have to do is move the power for the HDMI distribution system to an always on plug. No pro...

Re: Filling out mission papers online
The stake will need to enter the medical papers in the portal if they haven't already. After that my stake usually files the signed copies until after the missionary returns home just in case they're requested. The hard copy doesn't need to be sent in by mail. If there are extra papers explaining ce...

Re: Firewall blocking custom built page
I had a similar problem with a personal site being blocked at the church, but found it was because I was using one of the new TLDs (a .ninja) and the TLD was blocked. If your website is a classic TLD (.com, .net, .org, etc.) and doesn't work, the approval process would probably be the only way. If i...

Re: Problem creating account
The easiest way without having to call support is to follow these steps: 1. Go to https://account.lds.org/recovery?type=username 2. Click "I don't know my username" 3. Click "Membership Record Number" (you might have to get that from a clerk, or it's on a temple recommend if they...

Re: Mass Texts
I used to use email to text for my YSA ward. Some problems I had were that sometimes members on certain carriers (it varied which ones, but I seem to remember Sprint was a frequent culprit) would never receive the messages. The other struggle if it's a larger group like an entire ward was removing p...

Re: Wireless Internet Providers
Here in Saint George the majority of our church buildings are connected through a WISP. (It's a little hard to dig through the lava rock just to get an internet connection.) Some of the downtown buildings have had fiber run to them in recent years but the majority are still wireless. The wireless se...
