Re: New Lenovo m710q Clerk Computer Provisioning Quirks

One of the GSC people who helped me last month said that there is an option for starting the whole thing from scratch. They send you over to a Microsoft site to reinstall Windows, and you get the provisioning software from them, or something like that. That might be your best bet for that one compu...

Re: New Lenovo m710q Clerk Computer Provisioning Quirks

7. Set the bar all the way to the bottom again I'd leave UAC on. Third from the top One notch down from the top is the normal setting. Apparently I don't have email notifications on so I'm just seeing this. It looks like I forgot the step at the end of setting up the computer where I turned UAC bac...

New Lenovo m710q Clerk Computer Provisioning Quirks

I just replaced 5 of my clerk computers with the new Lenovo m710q (the super tiny ones) desktops. In doing so, I found some quirks to the LDS Provisioning profile and thought I'd write some annotations to the instructions for those setting up new clerk computers in the next few months, or at least w...

Re: Maraki and Cisco AP integration issues.

Is there a plan to re-integrate the ability to see what clients are connected to each AP? Before I could click on the AP and see what clients were connected to it. That was handy for troubleshooting.

Re: Maraki and Cisco AP integration issues.

This is somewhat of an educated guess and could be totally off, but it is my understanding that the Meraki devices are cloud managed while the regular Cisco devices talk to the Church's on-premise (in a datacenter somewhere probably) controllers. Because these are two different systems, it is possib...

Re: Wont allow me to add my membership number

It sounds like you have an existing account and are trying to create a new one. The easiest thing to do in this case is to recover your username by going here: https://ldsaccount.lds.org/recovery?type=username and entering your membership number and birthdate. Once you have the username you can reco...

Re: Automated Music Solution

I'm not so sure as the foyer has it's own amp. I could just be a 70V speaker running off the chapel amp. True. It varies. A lot of buildings I've seen have it set up to where if the chapel audio is off and there's audio in the cultural hall, the audio from the cultural hall goes into the foyer. If ...

Re: Automated Music Solution

I've helped set up similar setups in two buildings. One is an Institute building and the other is one of the new YSA stake buildings. In both cases we just found a couple old family history computers that were sitting in closets to run the music. I put VLC on them and set up scheduled tasks to start...

Re: Technology Manager 2.0 Release

I ended up using the Fing network scanner... Yes, Fing is a terrific tool. So you were labeling the cables in the wire closet. How were you determining which area of the building each WAP covered? The cables were already labeled. It was the physical location to mac address that I had to figure out.
