Re: Maraki and Cisco AP integration issues.

This is somewhat of an educated guess and could be totally off, but it is my understanding that the Meraki devices are cloud managed while the regular Cisco devices talk to the Church's on-premise (in a datacenter somewhere probably) controllers. Because these are two different systems, it is possib...

Re: Wont allow me to add my membership number

It sounds like you have an existing account and are trying to create a new one. The easiest thing to do in this case is to recover your username by going here: https://ldsaccount.lds.org/recovery?type=username and entering your membership number and birthdate. Once you have the username you can reco...

Re: Automated Music Solution

I'm not so sure as the foyer has it's own amp. I could just be a 70V speaker running off the chapel amp. True. It varies. A lot of buildings I've seen have it set up to where if the chapel audio is off and there's audio in the cultural hall, the audio from the cultural hall goes into the foyer. If ...

Re: Automated Music Solution

I've helped set up similar setups in two buildings. One is an Institute building and the other is one of the new YSA stake buildings. In both cases we just found a couple old family history computers that were sitting in closets to run the music. I put VLC on them and set up scheduled tasks to start...

Re: Technology Manager 2.0 Release

I ended up using the Fing network scanner... Yes, Fing is a terrific tool. So you were labeling the cables in the wire closet. How were you determining which area of the building each WAP covered? The cables were already labeled. It was the physical location to mac address that I had to figure out.

Re: Technology Manager 2.0 Release

Unfortunately not available for Apple products. I ended up using the Fing network scanner on my iPhone. All of my APs have power injectors mounted in a row in the closet so I just scanned the network for the APs, found one of the APs in the list, pinged it, and unplugged the LAN side of the power i...

Re: Technology Manager 2.0 Release

I like the idea of being able to attach labels to the APs, but how would we identify them? The MAC address presented to the wired network is different than the one presented to the wireless devices. The best I can think up at the moment is to stand under on AP and then look at the list to see if th...

Re: Organ Line-in

The line in could also be a handy backup if for some reason the main sound system died and a quick solution was needed to get audio restored until it could be fixed. That happened to us a few times when our Ivie controller died. I set up the speakers we use for YSA dances/activities so we could have...

Re: Webcast and Spanish Lang Feed

Could you make use of the left/right audio channels? E.g. Send English on the left channel and Spanish on the right channel? At each receiving building you'd just hook the left channel up to the main sound system and the right channel up to however you'd be distributing the Spanish audio.
