An alternative to your approach is to use a spreadsheet. Because I found I needed to manipulate data in more ways than MLS permitted, whenever we received a donation slated for a scout camp, I entered the name of the donor, the name of the boy, the date and amount of the donation and, if necessary, ...

Paying for camps from Budget and Other
There is no provision for paying for camps using any other source of funds, and it is quite clear that money that goes into the Other category for the exceptional case of paying for one annual camp comes from the participants earning the money, or from a fundraiser. That money collected for that sp...

It's clear that there will be additional communication before the changeover occurs. For one thing, every unit will have to upgrade to MLS 3.2, which isn't even available yet. For another, there once the MLS 3.2 upgrade occurs, the Church will have to do the switchover to CUBS. I'm sure we'll be to...

What do I do to make a paper trail for online distribution orders? It seems that the distribution orders would need to be authorized like any other expense, but I've never had an auditor ask to look at them. In the past, I've treated them the same as the missionary payments, and simply gone ahead an...

I know this is an old Thread, but the topic is new to me. I followed all of the conversation just fine, except where I got to the part of the above quote that I underlined. Two questions. 1) In the enter expense screen you enter the reference #, but there is still the box for the payee. What do you...

Boundary Changes and Tithing settlement
After Tithing Settlement had started, out stake realigned the boundaries of a few wards and created a new ward. According to policy, I provided the new ward's clerk with the tithing settlement statements for all the affected members. Do I need to do anything special with the Tax statements?

Although I appreciate your concern for following policy regarding the Other account, I can't find any place in the policy or training materials that makes these specific claims. Although in general, subcategories of the Other account are to be used "promptly" for the intended purpose, there is no m...

Does anyone happen to know if it is possible to make Distribution Center orders which charge the ward "Other" account, rather than the budget? We have an ongoing pass-through account which we use to buy Bibles to give to the Stake (they have a program setup in which they are given to troubled youth...

I've never heard of such a thing being done by the WML. If the WML just wants to know if one year has passed, that would be one thing. You could tell him yea/nay before getting the member's hopes up. It sounds to me like you really need to sit down with the Bishop and discuss this. Or call the stak...
