Re: 18 Year old YM vs 18 Year old YW

May I suuggest someone run up the flagpole that for USA wards that automove of YW be changed to happen at 19 like it does for YM. Most 18 year old YW stay in YW until they graduate or turn 19. Handbook 10.1.5 allows this. Clerks could then move to RS when a conscious decision is made my her and her...

Re: changing category names

I would like to change the name of the account I am not sure you can change the name of the account once it has been used. It should be possible (at least it used to be). Go to Finance > Budget > Add/Update Categories on the menu. Find the category you want to rename, right click and select 'Rename...

Re: How to transfer money from Ward Mission Fund to a missio

I realize this may be a basic process, but we have a missionary account for a missionary who has long since returned from his mission--but during his mission his family moved several times and ... long story short ... our ward has a balance on his missionary account that I am trying to close out us...

Re: Ward Missionary Subcategory adding

The Missionary Department does make the addition when the missionary is first called, but it makes it to the ward that has pledged to support that missionary. If the supporting ward changes, because, for instance, the family moves, then the bishops of the two wards coordinate the changeover, includi...

Re: Moneygram made out to the Bishop

From time to time, we'd receive checks payable to the bishop, rather than the ward. We jokingly called them the bishop's "tips," and handled them as described above. We never had a problem with them coming back.

Re: Civil Marriage and then a ceremony

I am engaged to a man who is not a member of the church and my wonderful bishop is going to perform the civil ceremony in April. But I was wondering what the churches policy is on getting married at city hall (essentially eloping) and then still having a ceremony for friends and family in April. Is...

Re: Other Accounts used for Scout Fund Raising funds

First: none of the funds obtained through charitable fundraising can "inure" to the benefit of an individual. That's fundraising fraud. The primary reason that you aren't having to collect and remit sales tax on this fruit is because you are doing so to promote the aims of the charitable o...

Re: New Wards and Tithing settlement

While the electronic and physical tithing records don't go anywhere, as part of the division, the ward clerk should print the Tithing settlement statements for all affected members and provide them to the new ward clerk(s). At least, that was the policy when I had to do it 5 years ago.

Re: Policy on using local unit funds to purchase television

While the TV is fit for purpose, it should not be replaced. If the picture quality or other factor has deteriorated so to you can not effectively use it then it should qualify for replacement. I think the point the OP was making is that the TV that is available is not fit for their purpose - that p...
