Mission Required Tablet

I recently had a sister from my ward receive her call to a mission in the United States. In the paperwork from the mission, it asked that they bring with them an Android tablet device. Our missionaries currently have the Ipad mini's provided by the Church and I had not heard of missions requiring An...

Re: Baptism - Children approaching the font

Thanks for the reply. You might be right that it is not a policy but rather a safety precaution. We have the barrier as well.

Thanks!

Baptism - Children approaching the font

It was brought up in my ward that someone remembers a communication from the Church asking that children not be invited to come closer to the font during the baptism but remain in their seats. (for as long as I can remember the young children were invited to come kneel in front to see better) I cann...

Re: Civil Marriage

Funerals held in the church are considered a church meeting and require the Bishop or his counselor to conduct. If the family has the meeting outside the church then they can choose who conducts and presides. I would assume the same policy would apply for a wedding. I agree though, since it is not e...

Re: Ecclesiastical Endorsement BYU-Idah

I wanted to add to this thread. I have had similar issues this week where members have applied at several church schools but they only show up under BYU Provo for endorsement. In the leader applications it shows a link for endorsement to BYU and one for BYU-Idaho. I was able to endorse a young man f...

Re: Handbook 1 will not display in english

I am having the exact same thing. No matter which link I try for Handbook 1 it initially puts web address for the English version, but then as soon as the request hits the site it changes the address to go to the Spanish version. Even when I put eng at the end of the address it acts like there is a ...

Re: Celiac disease

So my question is if others have their priests break the gluten free portions, or do not due to concerns about cross contamination? I would like to make this as easy and reverent as possible and also not have members worried about taking the sacrament. I will ask my Stake President for guidance, bu...

Re: Celiac disease

I appreciate everyone's comments as we too have about 5 with various levels of intolerance or diagnosed cases. Currently they bring their own bread. I have not wanted the liability of a Teacher bringing bread at the last minute and it is not gluten free. They place it on a tray and sit in the same s...

Re: Sacrament and Class Attendance

I know the Church is working on an app for sacrament attendance that would allow you to do the things you mentioned and report who has not been to sacrament meeting for awhile. It is being piloted now, so who knows if it sees the light of day, but the Church seems to recognize that this information ...

Re: Sacrament Meeting First or Last in Block?

There is a training emphasis on the Sabbath Day that was given to the area and general authorities at the General Conference Training the Thursday and Friday before General Conference. It's a two-part training: The first segment is "Sabbath Day Observance at Church" and the second is &quo...
