Re: The Youth Face to Face Broadcast Paradox

For what it's worth, and I'd take it with grain of sand, I did call the support line last week to ask and was told that the Face to Face broadcast WILL be carried on the satellite system. I for one am hoping I was told correctly, because it's clearly much easier to show it off the satellite in the s...

Firefox support for NPAPI ending next year

The reason we have to use Firefox is that the webcast software requires Microsoft Silverlight which in turn requires NPAPI which has been disabled in Chrome and Internet Explorer, but has not been disabled in Firefox. Now comes this news: http://news.slashdot.org/story/15/10/10/0415223/firefox-suppo...

Re: "Send a Message" Function on LCR

Are there any plans for a "saved" distribution list? For example, we send stake announcements each week to the Stake Presidency, High Council, Ward Bishoprics/Branch Presidencies, and a handful of "other" individuals. Having to select each of these each week is pretty tedious. It...

Re: Dark Image from VidiU with composite source

Thank you for the quick feedback. I was taking my input directly from a video distribution amplifier that also fed my local monitors and DVD burners, but the signal does go through a fork to the building video distribution before it hits the input to video distribution amplifier. I can see that ther...

Dark Image from VidiU with composite source

I purchased the recommended Startech unit to convert our composite source to HDMI to use with the VidiU encoder. If I test the Startech unit locally, for example by connecting a DVD player as input and connecting the HDMI output to a TV set, I get a reasonably good image. But in my testing, when I c...

Re: "Send a Message" Function on LCR

Our Stake Conference is coming up next weekend, and our Stake President wants to send an e-mail invitation to all adult stake members. With this function inoperative, what methods can be used to accomplish this objective? I'm hoping for something better than a manual cut/paste everyone's email from ...

Re: New Standard Webcasting solution

We ran a test on Sunday using the open source software Open Broadcaster . It worked well. The portal uses the RTMP protocol so any software/hardware that uses RTMP should work. Thank you! I was hoping a solution would turn up that did NOT involve buying the VidiU product. Not that it wouldn't be a ...

Re: New Standard Webcasting solution

Thank you, russellhltn! You are always very helpful! I'd still like to know if encoding/transmitting solutions other than the Teredek VidiU will be supported any time soon. I investigated the options listed above, and found the Telestream Wirecast to be the best suited for our current environment. I...

New Standard Webcasting solution

It looks as though the new webcasting solution has gone live as of this week and the old solution with the webcast communicator and software is being "deprecated". See https://www.lds.org/help/support/meetinghouse-technology/webcast?lang=eng We are being asked to move to the new solution a...

Re: Newsletter Down

I'm seeing the same basic problem on our Stake Newsletter site, but I don't get the language issue or inability to access the admin page. I don't get that far. When I select "Newsletter" from the tools menu I get a brief "Loading..." message and then a screen that reads "An ...
