Here are two examples from http://www.ldsoss.org. The first one uses MLS for the organizing and the web for sharing, gathering reports, and tracking visit history. The second one may be more of what you're asking about.

Agreed that the ward calendars could glean a thing or two from Google Calendar. In my humble opinion, much better than manually (or automatically) importing an instance of the ward calendar where the instance is immediately outdated, would be the ability to "subscribe" to the ward calendar...

Unfortunately, even if there was one vCard per .vcf file, MS Outlook still doesn't import more than one .vcf file at a time. Pulling more than a few into your Outlook contacts list is still a nightmare. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's because Outlook is stuck in the world of v2.1...
