Unit Allocation/Budget Estimate Tool

I looked around the forum and didn't see one posted. Here is a spread sheet that will provide a detailed estimate of unit allocations for top down annual budgeting purposes by entering expected attendance and carry-forward: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwaI40ia50pFSnIzeHU0d2M4Vm8/view?usp=sharin...

Re: Status update on VT/HT application

Attached is the message your Bishop is referring to from 18July.

* First day of winter is December 21, 6:03 P.M. EST (Winter Solstice).
* If your ward council is nice this year, they might find a little something extra in their LCR stocking ;-)

General Conference via a Roku + EJ-8 or 10 setup

Attached is a backup Roku arrangement for General Conference, in case satellite reception is dodgy (i.e. pixelation). WiFi or ethernet Roku setups would be the same... Answering other common questions I saw on 2 different tech.lds.org-Roku threads: * HDMI TV or HDMI projector or HDMI adapters will w...

Re: Automated - New & Returning Member Progress (NMRP) repor

uggh, sort of messes up the humor when I get the abbreviation wrong ;-)

"CP/M" => "Control Program / Monitor" or after tech-marketing got a hold of it "Control Program for Microcomputers".

Now those were the days...

Re: Automated - New & Returning Member Progress (NMRP) repor

The same way we did when we were computerizing all of the membership records in 1974. We typed in the data using special typewriters with optical character recognition font that could be scanned by the computers at Church headquarters, and they sent back paper. And we kept the names of the new and ...

Re: Automated - New & Returning Member Progress (NMRP) repor

I too was a clerk in the days of MS-DOS with dial-up modem financial transfers (guess that dates me). No spread sheet reports, etc. My reference to "glacial" didn't refer to the form or it's year-long goal. "Glacial" referred solely to the struggle of getting timely information f...

Re: Automated - New & Returning Member Progress (NRMP) repor

Indeed, I was hoping there might be a clear cut answer :-( I do appreciate the guidance. In a small unit (or large unit I would assume) with one clerk, distributed cloud documents with tightly managed access controls is a must or the work would be slowed to a glacial pace. Local leadership consented...

Re: Automated - New & Returning Member Progress (NRMP) repor

Anyone using this will need to consider Meetinghouse Technology Policy 4.9.3 and 4.9.4. Also slide 14 of Keeping Church Records Safe , which specifically says that Google docs can't be used for confidential information. Thanks for answering my question on policy... 1. I am familiar with and adhere ...

Re: New and Returning Member Progress

Our ward is interested in getting this information in an online database. Has anyone done this yet? It would be great to be able to submit the information once and then be able to go back to it when needed. Would also be able to share it with the ward council, PEC, etc. Thanks, Justin I too needed ...

Re: New and Returning Member Progress form on lds.org

I developed and posted this to overcome some of the NRMP limitations on lds.org (saving and a lack of an overall summary view): https://tech.lds.org/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 07#p128407
