quick quote from the wiki article mentioned by RussellHltn above: "Creating a nonmember record in MLS does not create a record at the administrative office, so if the household moves to a different ward, the nonmember record will need to be created again in the new ward." so in other words...

Have you gone to the household record in MLS and checked the name of the household itself? ah yes, you've made this point before, but only now does it sink in -- i only checked the name of the head of household, but overlooked that the name of the household is separately editable and apparently not...

i have a situation where the wife shows up in the directory under the surname of her former non-member husband, EVEN THOUGH 1- the marriage was terminated properly in MLS 2- the non-member husband's temporary record has been removed, and 3- the wife has only her maiden name in "full name",...

It should show in Clerk Resources as soon as it is in CDOL. I believe they do some caching, so you may have to log out to see the change. If it is not there then I would recommend changing the Set Apart Flag to No, saving it and then setting it back to Yes. That should cause it to be sent up again....

my original comment was about the "email all <organization>" feature available to all ward members WITHIN the directory app, not about the "send a message" function available in leader/clerk resources (i haven't really checked on what happens with "send a message"). app...

directory 2.0: what does opt out mean?

(i know what it means, but i think a vast majority of ward members don't) just a suggestion...the individual tailoring of privacy settings is a wonderful feature. the emphasis on being able to "view" information can be misunderstood. it appears there are a few unintended consequences to wo...

membership records in MLS out of synch with clerk tools on lds.org

a family moved from another ward in our stake into our ward, and their membership records were sent by the old ward to ours. they show up in the lds.org directory, and within clerk tools on lds.org you can even view their membership records online. however, their records have not been sent to our wa...

by the way, it looks like the info in the wiki may be a little too broad when it comes to clerks. an "assistant ward clerk" in our ward was not able to access CDOL, and received this response from slc: Only the assistant ward clerk-membership receives CDOL access, and the individual must b...

a positively mystifying discussion -- simply use plain paper and choose the "type of report" option that says "official tax statements (united states)" and it prints the "letterhead" for you on the plain paper -- simple and everyone is happy. (in other words, don't choo...

if you are using web based email, instead of trying to find and install a local email client, it is very simple to just use your web based email without any modification instead, as follows: 1- right click on the email address (or group email link), and then click on "copy email address". ...
