CUBS: Confusion on how sub-categories "roll-up" into parent categories

I just read CUBS: Budget subcategory strategies and I'm left with a question: How exactly do the sub-categories roll-up to the parent categories? Let me try to explain with an example (amounts are made up): We have 2 Elders Quorums, and there is currently a "Budget:Elders Quorum" category....

Okay, as a final note of what I did: Yesterday I followed the instructions from the 9 page email and I transferred money out of the "Other:Payable to Local Unit:<sub-category-name>" to "Other:Payable to Local Unit" to re-establish all balances that were in their previously. (Note...

Just out of curiosity, did the total in your Other category after the transition match the total in your Other category before the transition. I seem to have lost a few hundred dollars in the conversion. Yeah... we lost $192.13 in the conversion when you add all the "Other:" categories to...

CUBS: Other: Balances not what they used to be - How do I fix?

Note: I read the "CUBS is live" message and I still have a question (well, in fact, I have a BUNCH of questions but I thought I would create a separate thread for each question so as to keep things short and simple). Question: Our "Other:" categories no longer show what they used...

You can change it in MLS and it will get up to the new directory overnight. Ah... tricky tricky :) I guess I can't change it via my web browser. :( The reason why I asked is because of the following: it is hard to update everyone's preferred name at the church building... it is much easier to sprea...

Preferred name on new directory

I love the new directory (currently at http://new.lds.org/directory ).

I'm running into an issue though: I can't seem to figure out how to change my preferred name.

Does anyone know how to change my preferred name?

Thanks~!

Emailing the ward - easy way to get email addresses without exporting them out of MLS

So far the old LUWS hasn't really been adopted by our ward and thus not many people have have registered. Since they haven't registered, using the Email Broadcast feature on LUWS isn't something we normally do. Instead I've created a Custom Report in MLS which outputs everyone's individual and house...

APO Address?

Our Elder's Quorum President recently wrote a letter to a member and the letter was returned with an APO AP address (96264). Does that mean the member moved out of the ward? Should we transfer the records anywhere? I suppose the EQ president can write the member at the new address... we just weren't...

Amateur / Ham Radio Group?

So, I just got my tech license and now I have no idea what to do. Well, I guess I have "Get a radio" on my to do list but unfortunately they are expensive and I don't have the money right now (I started a savings fund so in a few months I'll have enough money to get a radio). Anyhow, I was...
