I subscribe to PCWorld magazine, and they have the exact opposite preferences for antivirus software than you do, brado426. Perhaps Symantec/Norton has really improved their latest version. I also thought it was interesting their low rating of TrendMicro's software. I've never used it myself. Just ...

An authorization process such as that would be great. However, I understand that developing and maintaining such an authorization process would be somewhat complex and would require resources. I also understand why the church has these policies. On another note, I was reading in another thread about...

Norton Anti-Virus = Not a good thing
I just wanted to agree with Enrique regarding Norton Anti-Virus. In my professional experience, it is the worst virus scanner ever created. Norton Internet Security as a suite is even worse. These product slow down PC's significantly. When I encounter someone using NIS that is complaining of slownes...

The site can certainly be run locally as I have done it many times for demonstration purposes. The problem is that the whole purpose of the site is to allow Home/Visiting Teachers to report for themselves. Installing this application locally on a ward computer or non-Internet connected computer woul...

HT/VT Reporting Website
I explained how the site works in some detail earlier in this thread. It is currently a stand-alone site, but there is no reason why it couldn't be integrated with the ward website with a bit more development. The site currently requires that the HT/VT data is exported from the MLS system and upload...

HT/VT Reporting
The HT/VT Reporting system that I've been working on (currently in testing) does what you folks are asking for. It does not, however, allow you to change HT/VT assignments. In my opinion, this functionality should stay within the MLS system to keep data in sync. How would you like to have a nice sum...

Valid point, mkmurray.
You raise valid concerns, mkmurray. I admit I had the same concerns and pushed forward with this project anyway because of the extreme benefit I felt it would provide. I dealt with the situation by adding multiple security features, but we all know that nothing is 100% secure. I do not want to do an...

HT/VT Reporting
Hi Folks, I'm the guy that developed one of the Home/Visiting Teaching applications that Tom mentioned earlier in this thread. Since Tom posted a link to the site, I feel that I can freely talk about it now. HTReporting.com automatically e-mails the home teachers requesting a home teaching status a...
