A lot of these ideas seem really good and valid, particularly ones involving mapping resources so the missionaries have a better idea of where they "may" be able to be more effective (given that travel is such an issue for them, being able to easily identify that several needs are in close...

I tend to think that MLS computers should be excluded from anything of this nature due mainly to the sensitivity of the data on them (would be nasty to find out the program in question was doing something beyond using idle cpu time - there are probably policy issues that would be run afoul of by doi...

Not sure how much I like the everything being public too. The quality of data in my PAF file varies greatly. Some of it I don't think could be any more solid, other data though is closer to "research notes" than it is something I'd consider even half way accurate. I guess I wouldn't want s...

Would there be an easy way to merge someone else's entire tree with your own without having to approve the merge of completely identical records? I don't really want our trees disintegrating into a bunch of fragmented pieces instead of one nice whole. The downloading part is still going to be fairly...

The kicker is figuring out how TempleReady would deal with a situation where the whole user base is divided on who an individual's parents were. Some other time I will talk about the problems cause by linking a child to a marriage rather than to the parents. It's important to remember that the need...

Would there be a way to accept others changes as your own and easily have them added in to your own file? Currently I work as a "coordinator" for my family. I have several different family members working on genealogy and periodically they send their PAF files back to me, I merge in their ...

Well, along with lincles comment, some of these voip providers don't require monthly fees or even a real number, they're just an outbound, pay-as-you-go sort of deal. You could look at setting things up so that ALL outbound calls are VoIP and the inbound line is always answered by asterisk, and opti...

How long did you wait for results? I noticed a significant delay before results were displayed.

I reset all of my security settings back to default and couldn't reproduce the problem either.

Might want to make sure your java installation is updated and working properly as well.

Hello, nice forum. I did not know this existed. I have a problem with Local Units Desktop v. 5.5, we are locked out of our PC. Apparently our bishop tried to log in but failed to type in the correct password a number of times and now we are locked out. He tried my admin account password as well, to...

The issue of combining vs. separating different contributions is one area where, at least from what I have seen, it appears there is some potential for different researchers to disagree and cause each other difficulties by repeatedly changing the database back and forth. I hope people will be reaso...
