Mac Indexing

There is currently not way to make the applet into a *.app file for easy access but we are looking into this possibility. Thanks.

For now, our support for the Mac platform is limited to running it as a Java Webstart App on the Mac Java JRE

Life Browser

We have just released for a few temple districts the New FamilySearch. The Life Browser could be modified to use ActionScript 3 libraries to call the yet-to-be released New FamilySearch API. Hosting of Rich Media

Many website are hosting rich family media. We at FamilySearch are working with some of them to keep and correlate their data with our New FamilySearch Family Tree. Gedcom 6.0

The Church is not currently doing anything with GEDCOM 6.0 (XML) format. However, our yet-to-be-announce FamilySearch API do use a REST approach with XML-based schemas for data exchange.

Accessiblity for Seeing-impaired

There is not anything developed specifically for "Accessibiity" in the first version of New FamilySearch. Standard browser-based "screen-readers" do work with content and ALT tags, however, audio assistance may not be possible for all navigation.
