Re: audio recording in sacrament meeting?

If you are getting the wrong meeting (must be in Utah), you can try pushing the search button(i think). If the correct one is on a different channel, it should find it. And, unless you are really close to the church building, I doubt it will work.

Re: Boundary Exceptions

-- the approval process is rather daunting. Having been through this process I agree with that. I just wanted to point out that even though the 'records' are in your ward (they shouldn't be), by policy, the bishop is not their ecclesiastical leader. Therefore, he should not issue them a temple reco...

Re: Emergency Prep - Geo Zone Action Map Idea

I have struggled with this issue. I am a councilor in a very small (by membership/leadership) and at the same time a very large (by area of about 1000 square miles) branch. The membership does tend to be clustered which helps, but the branch president lives 70-80 miles from the center of the branch,...

Re: No Unit Budget Allowance for summer camps

I feel your pain your last post sounds just like my experience. With over 27 years experience in Scouting I can't seem to get the current leadership in my ward to see the light. Things do seem to be changing though, just not fast enough for me. As you all know, it is difficult to run a good scoutin...

Re: Come follow me videos on DVD

Many (Most?) older DVD players cannot play Mpeg or other "data" formats. It must be burned as a regular DVD. I use a free program called DVD Flick (see http://www.dvdflick.net)

Re: form suggestion

I am first councilor in the branch. I have a spreadsheet I use to generate the Sacrament meeting agenda when I am conducting. It contains a form with selections for presiding, conducting etc and text boxes with defaults for the music director and organist, text boxes for speakers, announcements and ...

Re: Does the Church publish to Kindle?

At one point, there was a project for Gospel Library for Kindle ereaders. That project was abandoned or put on open ended hold. I don't know the reason, but it could be either not being able to get enough volunteers to work on it. A more likely reason could be that the kindle is not an app based dev...

Re: Can't find meeting location for Geoje Family Branch

No problem. I'm glad I could help. Like I said, I would encourage you to mention to the clerk that he might need to do something about getting the meetinghouse location correct on the map so this doesn't happen to someone else. Unless the procedure has changed, It could be as simple as moving the me...

Re: Webcast to Bilingual Unit - Webcast in 2 languages

Just need a few more details, did you use an EJ 8, Ej10, or mixer, what are some of the parts vendor and mode (i.e., high-z) I didn't put in a lot of detail, since each situation can be different. I mainly wanted to put the concept on here. I will be happy to give more details about how we did it i...

Re: calendar display issues with IE8

My opinion -- it's not so big an issue that it doesn't work on IE8, since there is a simple work around (use a different browser). The bigger issue, is that when it doesn't work, the user has no idea why or how to fix it. For example I just explained to our knowledgeable high council representative ...
