Yes, this is exactly what I meant as well. Thank you for clarifying. I don't think it matters whether it is imported automatically or manually hand-typed, it is the same. You as an individual have no right to insert other people's sensitive MLS data onto a non-Church hosted server. The key point I ...

This isn't really stated in any policy, but I think I will submit it to everyone for consideration and debate... Perhaps one good point of policy could be that you should never upload somebody else's MLS data that is not your own onto a non-Church hosted server. So if you are taking your own MLS da...

In my opinion, that's not entirely true. Just because a name and address is stored in MLS, doesn't mean I am restricted from putting my name and address on other non-Church websites. I can't think of any sensitive, personal data that is usually found only in MLS that would be asked for by ymyw.org ...

I've talked with Brad about some options and I can't promise anything but I am working on some shorter term alternatives. Tom Tom- This is a terrible loss. Let us know what we need to do to save this site. Our wards Home Teaching improved by 28% as a result of this tool and two families have been r...

Tomw / Mkmurray- Hmmm....this is still not as clear as you would think. You see we really need a definition of what is deemed "content" by the Church. If you use the definition known to all of us in cyberspace it is the copyrighted material mentioned in that letter. While we are at it we p...

Tomw-

We really need this clarified otherwise the use of commonly used sites (such as scouting.org, ymyw.org, etc.) are perceived as being in violation of church policy.

I would think this to be a higher priority given that it will undermine the innovation that beta.tech.lds.org is about. :(

RussellHltn, I appreciate your thoughts on this as well as the link to the older letter. The Stake Presidency has referenced their manuals and it is just not clear enough for the masses. This prior letter was about discontinuing the use of local sites now that http://www.lds.org was up to speed. The...

Request a clarification on usage of non-church owned websites

Brethren- We would like clarification on what is permitted or not permitted. There is a letter from the Presiding Bishopric dated December 13, 2004. The subject is Authorized Churct Web Sites. It reads as follows: ----- The Church has established a number of global Web sites and e-mail networks. The...

Need a list of Known Issues with MLS

Tom, I know you said stay tuned.... But now I have been nabbed to do stake trainings on membership work with MLS. MLS 2.4.6 is still not here and we need to have list of critical bugs. We can't teach our clerks to be aware of them and the respective work arounds if we don't have a list to work from....

CNET 2007 antivirus performance test scores

I subscribe to PCWorld magazine, and they have the exact opposite preferences for antivirus software than you do, brado426. IMHO PCWorld mag is more of a catalog than a magazine. They appear to favor their advertisers in their "objective" reviews. Check out this CNET review: CNET 2007 ant...
