Interesting thought, Daddy-O If a passive installation of MLS was located in a separate PC in the bishop's office, it would be necessary to ensure even the bishop could not Edit Membership. That sounds extreme? Had a bishopric member who said the bishop should have a copy of everybody's password. I...

I guess we could always recycle logins. Replace DaffyDuck with MickeyMouse.....yes, it's late. This way you don't remove you just reuse login records. Just a thought....

I'm not sure I understand this last sentence. The Church has not forbidden these sites from being used if I enter the data myself? They do forbid you from uploading membership data from MLS? I would like to use YMYW.org and the website ReturnAndReport.org. I am guessing that I will still need the a...

I agree that isolating to the point of entry (demark point) in the building is a good idea. After that is complete try the steps from this other post to isolate it further.

Good point. However, I think I'd want the non-techies to just add wish list items and leave the initial how to for the Techie's to figure out. I suggest that those leaders start using http://www.returnandreport.org first so they can get a better conceptual understanding of how this may work. Just a ...

Good point. I am not sure that I would like too many having the ability to change membership records for the sake of updating recommend status either. My guess is this was the quickest way to get this capability out the door and this may improve over time.

My stake has bought additional computers as needed for the family history center. Our clerks office is so small not sure where we'd put a 2nd computer. However, Bishops have asked for a terminal in their offices which can see (read only) info from MLS before. Whatever the circumstances.....I'd make ...

OK, so I went into the Clerk's office this morning and as expected, the VPN was down (VPN light was off on the 5505). I relocated the DSL modem to a different area so that the top of the router would be unobstructed to allow better heat dissipation. I will check up on this over the next day or so a...

Be aware that some Countries are very restrictive about personal information on the web. So do not be surprised if not all Countries are in the roll out.
