These men are married to members and are included in MLS so that their wives don't appear to be single women when we print out the phone directory, etc. I thought that was a no-no, unless they had given their express consent. (I was told when I started as a clerk that the consent of the non-member ...

The reason I surmise that the imported callings would be in the Out of Unit organization is that the standard stake callings included in Ward MLS are all in that Organization. Alan, I was expecting the exact behavior you describe, but this is not what I'm seeing in our ward instance of MLS...the im...

It doesn't matter whether a nonmember has ever had a calling; if their record has no birthdate, they will not show up on the Members Without Callings list. Alan, thanks for the explanation on this -- both myself and our membership clerk were scratching our heads on this one. I'm linking a suggestio...

Stake callings and automatic import into ward MLS records (new feature)
A few weeks ago, I read about the new feature of stake calling info being automatically imported into the wards' MLS records. I looked in MLS through the Organizations info and never saw it. Recently, I ran the Household Report and noticed what I thought were duplicate stake calling entries on membe...

As for the reasoning, I can only speculate that rolls are often passed around among class members, so to preserve privacy, the asterisk is not included there. Other lists would be intended for the teacher or for leaders, who in their shepherding of the child might well find that piece of informatio...

Report of moved-out members
I came upon this discussion from a link in the feedback and suggestions section for MLS in the wiki. I wanted to add a comment that it would be helpful for the move-out report to include the member's previous address & phone, as well as their new address & phone. That way, both the new and p...

I am disappointed that some of the standardized callings have been grouped under Miscellaneous instead of their own organizations. For example, the Activities Committee Chairman/Specialist(s) ought to have their own group, just as Boy Scouts and Out-Of-Unit callings do. The same goes for the Missio...

Temple Recommend Book info in MLS
I'm curious if others have noticed the Temple Recommend books information in MLS (Membership > Temple Recommends > More... > Recommend Books), which I assume only appears in the unit version of MLS. I stumbled on this a couple of months ago. It appears we are supposed to check a box next to the reco...

I can't answer for Church employees, but I will say that my guess is that they have reviewed that page at least a few times. The reason I assert this is because the very similar Suggestions wiki page for LUWS has become most of the basis for the new Local Unit Web Sites community development projec...
