30 years ago when I was a Priest, we had such a device. It hooked to the water faucet, and had a valve/lever which would open up streams over all of the cups at once. Haven't seen anything lately, though. Frankly, it turned out to be more of a hassle than it saved. The connection to the faucet would...

New policy/abilities for ordinance work?

I was at the temple yesterday and had some family file cards printed up. The person at the recommend desk mentioned that there was a new feature/policy concerning having certain ordinance work done in the "general file" vs. taking along the family file cards. For example, if you didn't wan...

Both my Bishop and his son (a Deacon) are gluten-intolerant. They have a small container of a piece of rice cake on the tray with the rest of the broken bread. The challenge is making sure that container gets on the tray which is passed to the Bishop and his son. It's a separate little container, so...

Sam,

Good news - Since I added your workaround with the -test URL, I got a single e-mail from Google announcing a genuinely new calendar entry!!
It looks like your change to standardize the UID worked. Now if we can get the official LDS.ORG calendar to stop changing the UIDs...

OK, I added a calendar with this -test URL. I'll monitor it and see if/when the cancellation/new event notifications occur.

Thanks - Steven

The code as it stands uses the passthru command and so I don't get access to the character count easily. I'll take a look next time I review the script. As a followup, I too got the "new.lds.org" URL to work, and I am seeing the same problem where a couple times per day it tells me all of...

The first thing I need to check is what URL you have to google, so I can look in the logs. However, you can also do this yourself... Hi Sam, Thank you for the good example on checking myself on the calendar workaround. I enabled Google to tell me when meetings appear and disappear on the calendar, ...

Another piece of information related to the workaround: I enabled Google to inform me of additions/deletions of calendar entries made on the "workaround" calendar. I am getting inundated with announcements of events being canceled, and then the same event shows up as new. It sounds like th...

Based on the difference between the official lds.org link and samliddicott's link, it appears that the fact that the lds.org https certificate has a mismatched domain name (*.lds.org vs. lds.org) may be causing google problems. I was playing around with the various URLs using a command line "wg...

My stake president keeps telling me to look at repeaters, but wouldn't a router configured as an access point be just as good? If you can run the CAT5 cable easy enough, my personal preference would be to have additional routers configured as plain access points (or get dedicated access points, but...
