I've had success with getting a number and access code for free from http://www.freeconferencecall.com/ It really is free. The only downside is that the access number is not a toll-free number, so there would be expenses incurred by the participants depending on the individual long-distance plans th...

There is a nice program called Streamdown which will handle those redirects just fine. It runs $39, but well worth it...

We don't have a bulletin - haven't had since I've been in the ward (about 4 years). We used to have a littany of announcements at the beginning of Sacrament meeting. The Bishop recently attended a Stake training meeting where the Stake President wanted to minimize non-essential announcements during ...

Electronic Bill-Pay?

Do you mean ETF deposits for tithing? If so, see this thread. I have been doing this for >1 year, and have had no problems at tithing settlement time where I show zero tithing given to the local unit (since it was all done electronically to SLC HQ).

There is a nice stand-alone (bootable) method called "Darik's Boot and Nuke" found here: http://dban.sourceforge.net/ You can boot into this utility, and it will securely erase the drive. Of course, as mentioned, the FBI probably could recover the data, but it should be good enough for don...

Tithing Settlement with Electronic Payment?

Hello, In March I signed up to pay my tithing electronically (see this post ). I've been very happy with the convenience. My question is: what are the logistics of Tithing Settlement? Today I got the end of year report from my local unit, showing my tithing being paid until March (during that time I...

You may want to check the Church Handbook of Instructions and the Scouting Handbook to make sure that's allowed.. FYI, on page 3 of the Scouting Handbook, it says: The bishop calls capable adults to serve as committee members.... Fathers and Mothers of boys and young men may be considered as prospe...

I have an Opticon scanner (purchased on eBay), and it reads it just fine.
The format of the barcode is "Interleaved 2of5" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interleaved_2_of_5

I have often wondered about this and I know a big part of my paying my tithing is writing that check. I also think the personal act of giving the offering envelop to the Bishop (or other Bishopric member) may affect some members - they want that personal contact, and who knows - maybe if they could...
