Regardless of whether the Church or the MTC have proxies, you can always make a VoIP call to a normal PSTN number - it just won't be free. True, and I'm sure the rates are quite reasonable. I just don't like the idea of generating yet another bill that we would have to receive, pay, and keep tabs o...

ALso, we should not pigeon hole ourselves into thinking that one solution fits all missionaries. With different regions of the world, different needs, and so forth, we may find unique high tech solutions for certain areas. Certainly true, even on a local level. In our neighboring ward the majority ...

Can headquarters be reached via VoIP?
Does anyone know if we can send calls to headquarters phone extensions, or perhaps the MTC referral center hotlines via VoIP? Not a big deal, but if it isn't difficult it would be kinda cool for a little project we're tinkering with here.

One method I use to get rid of pesky attributes (font, size, color, hyperlinks, etc) is to past the text into Notepad. Since Notepad is a text editor, the attributes don't follow. I then copy and paste the Notepad version of the text into my end document. I always do the same thing. Unfortunately t...

3. One stake president was working on a major boundary realignment, affecting every ward in his stake. He had manually put in geo-codes in the previous version of the software, and then upgraded to MLS. The upgrade process did not migrate his geo-codes. This would be a great test scenario to put in...

The Church currently does not endorse any specific product but ask members to do their own research and pick which is best for their situation and circumstances. True, but the church does use a product or system employed in its own filtering for Family History Centers and what not. Is there any way...

I'd love to see more videos available on LDS.org such that they can be downloaded and saved. I wanted to show Let Not Thy Heart Be Troubled to an investigator that was entering boot camp, only to discover that it wasn't available in our branch library. I didn't have time to order it as he as moving ...

Makes me wonder if the mixer is OK. Are the jumpers in place for the in/out patch and the remote? Does the -20 light come one reliably with any sound and the peak come on occasionally? Yes, the -20 light comes on when we speak into the microphone at a reasonable volume on either channel, and the li...
