Re: TV monitors on rostrum

Thank you for the response and ideas John. We do not have a stake center building. Our stake covers multiple counties. The Saturday meetings will be held at 1 chapel, and Sunday meeting at another. I shuttle the equipment after the last meeting equipment to the other chapel. The visiting authority ...

Re: TV monitors on rostrum

Forget ZOOM for Stake Conference (unless the Visiting Authority isn't attending in Person) as long as everyone is at the stake center, go back to the traditional way that stake center technology already does with relative ease and webcast it. Use the mounted camera in the Chapel, send it to the Tera...

Re: Changes to Technology Specialist Callings

I just don't think that Bishops who want to do something will ever ask the stake again, they'll just 'direct' their Ward TS to do it, that's a lot of pressure, not many of us are good and pushing back on something wrong. Well, when I was a ward clerk and was asked to do something that didn't sound ...

Re: Changes to Technology Specialist Callings

Reading the Handbook, I see very different roles. The STS works on the technology and infrastructure. The WTS helps the users. None of this has kept ward or stakes from doing crazy things in the past. I see how that makes sense as well. I just don't think that Bishops who want to do something will ...

Re: Changes to Technology Specialist Callings

I still don't understand the handbook where it says the Ward Technology Specialist works under the direction of the ExecSec.... at the stake level it's the clerk, why would it be different? I predict wards now doing all sorts of crazy things, imagine all the money they could spend on technology, ima...

Re: Ward Technology Specialist

Looks like we got their answer today Changes to Technology Specialist Callings Recent changes in the General Handbook, 33.10 allow stake presidencies and bishoprics to call one or more technology specialists to serve at the stake and ward level. Men, women, and youth may fill these callings. Ward Te...

Re: Facilities Question

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this question, but I'll ask it anyhow. I heard a rumor that the church is trying (whether actively or passively) to dispose of surplus property at their meetinghouses. In Idaho where I live, there seems to be a lot of separate facilities maintenance...

Re: Other Member Financed Activities - Online Payment

I just don't see the difference between having it available in MLS and not when it's an online app. One difference is that in MLS the clerk/bishopric member is choosing the category and hopefully has a good understanding of what it is intended for and the rules around OMFA accounts, while in donati...

Re: Other Member Financed Activities - Online Payment

I get it, it can be hard, but they were OK with it when it was MLS. So, there could be many reasons NOT to do it this way, but none of them involve what's good, better, or best for the general membership of the church, nor is it better for clerks who have to figure it out and hear about it All-the-t...
