DST and Java Versions

I am sitting here right now in a War Room effort supporting our Data Center during the Time change event. At our Ward Building earlier this week I did bring in the Microsoft update for our XP system running MLS so the Windows OS will be updated correctly. I identified that we are running JRE 1.4.2 w...

ITIL Implementations

Document, document, document. First you write a plan about what your going to do. Next you write about the experience of carrying out the those plans. Next you analyze and summarize those previous writing in light the newly gained knowledge. Repeat, repeat, Organize, organize. I realize change mana...

Tithing Settlement

Will the Bishop have a record of tithing paid directly to headquarters? Just so this thought is completed, the church sends to the individual, just like the ward would, the record of donations, first for tithing settlement and then for Tax Purposes. For additional information, see here http://www.l...

Fee's for Online Banking

I do see one side issue here as well, and that is the fees that are taken out of the donation by the bank or other issuing institution. For example, a merchant who takes a card at the grocery store is charged a fee, usually a percentage of the transaction. That fee varies based on the volume of sal...

vcard

I know Outlook has an API that interfaces with the contacts. I never thought about having the ward's contacts in my Outlook, but I think it is a great idea. Along those lines, outlook has a place for a picture to be imported and I was wondering if an option for VCard with Picture could be included....

EFT and Online Payment of Offerings is Available

I guess as I read my former post that it's not all that clear. YES the church has this functionality already. It is available and easy to setup. The link in my previous post will take you to documents needed to fill out to setup this process, or you can call the contact information at the bottom of ...

Outlook Express vs Vista Windows Mail

I'm not a professional programmer, but I've found this works for getting vcards from the ward website into outlook 2007. 1) Download the vcard from the website. 2) Open Outlook Express and inport the vcard file. 3) Open MS Outlook 2007. File -- Import and Export -- Import from another program or fi...

VCARD Download

Ward Unit Websites are great, the additional downloads of csv files and vcard files are wonderful, but the largest adopted email program in the world cannot import the vcard that is created by the unit websites Microsoft Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 do not support multiple contacts in one vcard. Wh...

Ward Web Sites

As with the additional improvements to the Unit Web Sites, this could be incorporated into these sites, or at a minimum, added to the administrator options. How great would it be to click a button and see the ward members pin cushioned to a downloadable JPG or PDF. Even have varying sizes. What abou...
