I run OSX Lion. I just tested my ward with Thunderbird (my default mail client) and Mail 5.2. It didn't have any problems loading the 62 email addresses we had for 'adults'. I know this doesn't help you, and I apologize. Could you tell us what OS you have (OSX Mountain Lion (preview)/10.8, Lion/10.7...

Crowdsourced audio

The French scriptures (BoM, D&C, PGP) don't have audio translations available. It's been >10 years! Could the church coordinate with the vineyard volunteer process to invite native French speakers to read small portions of the books? There's a fairly successful site that does this for public domain ...

I meant to mention also, that I suspect that the difference in your case between total members, total families, and total MP holders would be due to a new member moving in. I would suspect that a sync of MLS would rectify those particular differences. For some reason I had expected lds.org to wait u...

My ward has similar differences, but not the same. The total members, families, and Melchizedek priesthood holders are the same, but lds.org has 1 fewer women, 5 fewer YSA, 1 fewer YW, 6 more primary, and 8 fewer infants. I suspect that incorrect edge-case handling accounts for the majority of the d...

You can try http://wardmap.hpaulsen.com . I haven't updated it in a while; someone mentioned having problems saving a file; the HAM info is no longer active; etc... However, it will allow you to draw (or import a kml file as long as it contains polygons) regions and generate statistics for them. I w...

Interesting. My building (former stake center) has an electronic keypad locking system for the two primary doors, with keyed entry for two other outer doors. I've been hoping to have it upgraded for years (it's logging system is a dot-matrix printer - not fun to browse through, and a real pain when ...

I have found that organizing my minutes is critical to their effective use. I don't use a template, but I might as well. For Ward Council, I have the following headings followed by bulleted lists: Attending Invocation Assignments Spiritual Welfare Temporal Welfare Discussion Calendar Benediction Ass...

I've got another issue now that I'm curious how others are handling: How do people set up stake-assigned ward assignments? It seems that this would be best on a ward calendar, but it is not currently possible to have stake editors on ward calendars. I set up a single stake calendar for "Stake Temple...

There have been member-created efforts, as well. You could check out http://wardmap.hpaulsen.com as one solution. It reads the Membership.csv file from MLS (at least, the prior version with the membership record number - I haven't tried it with the new export format), and you can draw your home teac...

Scriptures CD-ROM missing from store.lds.org

I can't seem to find the Scriptures CD from store.lds.org. Is it being depreciated? Does anyone know? I can get it through the unit website, of course, but am not sure what to say for people who are interested in obtaining it for personal use.
