Enhancement to Mission Office Software (MOS) for Member Housing

A letter was recently sent from the First Presidency to Stake and Mission Presidents in the US and Canada stating that to the extent possible, missionaries should be housed with members. (There is a list of qualifications, which I won't describe at this time.) Our mission was one of three missions t...

We have been asked...

Sorry, I don't see the quote (or the pamphlet) backing the statement that "we have been asked". Nothing wrong with doing so. But I also stay alert for "commandment creep" because that's what happened to Pharisees and Sadducees and I don't think human nature has changed that much since then. ...

Can I ask why? From a technical standpoint, I don't see how that enhances security. If it's a self-control or temptation issue, then that's a different matter. If it's the latter, then that's OK. I'm more curious about the technical and security issue. Sure - thanks for asking! Because the Brethren...

Experience with NetNanny, CyberSitter

We have had this question come up and we usually teach the members how to go out and decide for themselves. There are several sites that rate filtering software, like http://internet-filter-review.toptenreviews.com/ , which are fairly comprehensive and helpful in making decisions. I wouldn't consid...

Wiki for translation of BD, other helps

We have a really fine missionary from France in our ward at this time, and he mentioned that their French LDS Bible is very simple as far as footnotes, etc. There is no French LDS Bible Dictionary or other resources. I had an idea to quickly translate the Bible Dictionary into a language using a Wik...

The only files that I know of that can be merged in PAF automatically are identical records with the same Ancestral File Number (AFN), so if you use the merge by AFN option, PAF can auto merge those records. When you download someone else's entire database you can compare that file with yours side ...

Endless possibilties, but...

I agree that these are great ideas! I think the Church would have pretty serious concerns about 'How do you prevent music and other media (images) from being loaded onto them?'. Also, a major part of Preach My Gospel is teaching the missionaries to use planners. Today, most missionaries only use the...

Ask each of the Stakes' web administrators to add you in as a "Non-Resident Member" to their site. They will need your membership record number and confirmation date. But once that's done, I think it will give you what you want. I tried this with one stake, but it didn't have the desired...

Thanks!

Thanks - this is very helpful - I guessed that there was a way to make a custom report. I think this is a report that should be standard, but I'll let everyone know how to create it in the meantime.
