I've never participated in giving a calling to someone, so I don't know. I do know that I don't like the idea of someone looking at a list of my previous callings for the purpose of assigning me a new one. Brad O. I've served many years in a Branch Presidency. Although we had a history of callings,...

Brad O. wrote:Very well said. I agree with this statement 100%.
Personally I feel if someone is type cast, and God doesn't mean them to be (maybe God does), its the fault of the person giving the calling, and NOT accurate historical record keeping.

2) You need to treat people for what they are, not for what they have been. If the ward was able to see someone's past callings, they might treat them differently. Interesting. Personally I would say the bishop is no better, no more faithful, no more exerting then the usher. All people are equal ri...

I also think that there are some privacy issues that come into play that would have to be considered. You would get a visibility into people's past that might not be appropriate. What calling could you have had that the current membership clerk (even if in a new ward/branch) should not be allowed t...

The members are not entering their own name - they have no say. And it's being placed in an area (on-line) that has potential for being hacked. And it's being done so by church leaders. Whose to say they are not running it on private computers without internet access? Just because its on a webserve...

Ok. Now just be warned that you'll need your own host that allows you to use PHP5 (I use proper class visibilities), and MySQL (although you can change my DB class to use whatever syntax you want). I'll look at the scripts over the next few days and make them distributable. Also, I've used these scr...

That makes sense... the sustaining list only has things like quorum/auxilliary/class presidencies, etc. instead of all ward callings. Is there a need for knowing who was in a particular calling several years ago (other than curiosity) that isn't on the sustaining sheets? I think its important to re...
