Not what I want. In fact that sustaining list doesn't list *all* callings. I was recently called as a clerk. The district had not been submitting an annual history. The clerks of cource don't have have a copy of the sustaining lists. And of course nobody is sure who had what calling a year ago, two ...

If I were a betting man, I'd say the church, if it went to any *nix, would use a BSD licensing scheme for its software. That seems more inline with past and present church software policies.

That would depend upon the job I suppose. But that would have to be answered by the manager hiring for the specific job. Ya, looked at the current jobs. Nothing listed under Ontario. I work for the government presently. So the benefits are pretty good, I have a ton of development and creative freed...

The biggest problem may be that Afaria also helps manage the dial up connection. Most units still use modems to transmit data and most modems are soft modems which may be a problem within Linux because most soft modems use proprietary software to make them work. While at Linspire, we made great str...

I believe a full backup of the database is sent about once a month. That would account for some, but not all of what you are seeing. The tip to update the Symantec is a good one. It has solved problems for at least one other person. The Desktop instructions states that it should be updated at least...

When MLS normally does a Send/Receive, it uses a Windows-specific communication component (Afaria). This makes MLS run only on Windows at this point, even though the rest of it is Java and so would probably run on Linux and other platforms. Can Afaria be run under Wine? For that matter, maybe thre ...

1. It would not benefit from the data that is already in MLS. I'd use it if I could :) And yes ,that would save time. Well, maybe. In our branch we have about 250 members on the books, but only half of those are ever seen. Choosing from a list of 250 is a tad tedious when only about 120 ever show up.

In fact it might be nice if MLS could print something off that could be used as-is within the stake/district annual history project (http://www.lds.org/annualhistory).
