Re: "Test Stream" for the new webcast system?

As of tonight, the test webcast is NOT working on either of the East servers. I called in after 17:00 Mountain so the webcast team had already gone home for the day.
Hopefully it will be fixed soon...

Re: "Test Stream" for the new webcast system?

Ah, I wondered what that was for. Will have to try it.

Thanks

Re: Wireless Mic in Chapel

We have 2 wireless mics in the chapel (1x handheld, 1x lapel), the receivers sit under the sacrament table. There are 2 XLR connectors under there (I suspect that FM wired them in a Y/Splitter setup) and a line level input (for the tape recorder that used to sit down there). I have one wireless rece...

"Test Stream" for the new webcast system?

On the old webcast system, there was a "Test Stream" that ran 24x7 to which I could direct the units to connect and make sure everything worked (if our schedules didn't coincide).
Is there (or are there plans to add) something like this for the new system?

Thanks

Re: New Standard Webcasting solution

Also, Open Broadcaster did NOT work on my laptop (2009ish Dell with a first generation i5 m430 processor and integrated graphics). Apparently the graphics don't support Directx10?

Re: New Standard Webcasting solution

I was sent a PM asking how I setup Open Broadcaster to connect to the streaming server. I thought that might be useful to have (somewhat) documented, so I am posting that info here. You go into the event setup and copy the "Link" and the "Stream Name" under "Broadcast Info&q...

I see that. It will also screencast the whole display or a window. I like the flexibility ;)

Re: New Standard Webcasting solution

We have a desktop that has been setup as a webcasting computer with the old software. I installed Open Broadcaster on it and was able to run a test broadcast easily. The hardest part was scheduling the meeting on portal.lds.org (apparently, I set the meeting length then changed the start time which ...

Re: Why no pop filter at general conference?

They are used pretty much exclusively in studios and rarely (if ever) in live meetings/performances, so I would be surprised to see one in General Conference. As for the mic being particularly sensitive, that is most likely a very high end microphone and the sound guys are doing the best they can do...

Re: Deep Freeze questions

I have used DeepFreeze extensively in a public library setting and the simplest way to make Java, Adobe, etc not annoy people is to turn off all updates, then manually update software monthly. One way we used to do this in the libraries was to use http://www.updatefreezer.org/ If you do install it, ...
