Re: Emergency contact zone lists

I just saw the above reply and wanted to thank scgallafent for taking the time to post it. I don't pretend to know all the ins and outs of databases but I'm always interested in learning how easy or difficult some suggestions might be and the process behind what I see on a screen. I expect my "...

Re: Year-end tithing report

I'm happy to have helped. I suspect that a large number of clerks make the same assumption. I know I did the first time. Not Declared seems like a logical choice until we really understand the purpose of the report.

This topic was discussed in the following thread starting about half way in:

There might be some info there that will help.

Re: Year-end tithing report

Ensure that all members have some kind of declaration. You may have neglected the non-tithe payers. If any of the blocks on the right hand side are yellow, you need to enter a declaration. Everybody, including children, will be Full, Partial, Non, or Exempt.

Re: Emergency contact zone lists

Got it! Other than the Geocodes, the only other possibility I know of is using the custom member fields. That is still a lot of work and kind of a clunky work-around. Your idea is a good. It could be easy to implement by simply cloning the Home Teaching structure and renaming it Emergency Response, ...

Re: Emergency contact zone lists

You could probably get some ideas about this by reading some of the threads on geocodes. I don't remember which subforum they are in, but search for that term and you will find them. My ward uses the Ward Geocode field in MLS for this purpose among others. Some aspects of what you want to do would b...

Re: Budget summary reports use wrong allocation amounts

Are you copying the data from the old budget to the new budget; or are you typing in the new allocations manually. I've never had your problem but I did see an option for copying the data and I can see where that might create some unexpected results. Then again, I didn't use the option so I don't re...

Re: Expenses from Missionary's WMF subcategory

To bring this to closure, aebrown nailed it. I called Global Support to resolve another finance issue and while talking to the support agent I asked if I could initiate the fix. She had no problem with that. Funny thing was, when she looked up the missionary in question, the change had been made the...

Re: Expenses from Missionary's WMF subcategory

Two follow-on questions. My ward has kind of the opposite problem. We have a missionary that should be under our financial support but we have no WMF subcategory for her. Her parents live in our ward and have been contributing for her support each month, which we have been putting into the Ward Gene...

Re: Funeral expenses paid by ward

I agree with Gary_Miller. I imagine if a family needed help with the mortuary services, that could come out of fast offerings as well. We created a budget sub-category under Administration for funerals and place a modest amount in there for post-service family meals. We estimate 3 or 4 funerals per ...
