Unofficial web site?

So a few years back I wrote a PHP/MySQL site that allowed a branch president to manage his sacrament meetings. . . . Over the years this tool has been adopted by my district. I think an official tool like this would be a wonderful idea. The branch presidents in my district seem to love it. Although...

Elders Roll

Is there a way to have Elders and Prospective Elders to be combined on one list? I know they can be assigned to our quorum, but they would still be on a separate list. Just a thought. Adding specific prospective elders to the Elders Quorum organization is the correct thing to do if the HPGL and EQ ...

MLS Test Data

As a new Ward Clerk I would find it helpful to install MLS on my personal PC. I of course do not want to install real data but I would add some test data or wonder if there is a sample database included (it seems I ran across indications there is). It would help me greatly to actually sit in front ...

Yes, he is. And taking steps to deal with the spam that's been in the Wiki. That's nice to know, but the fact remains that the LDSClerks wiki has been completely neglected by both Kent Larsen and any contributors for months. Perhaps on the new server with the spam problem fixed it may be revitalize...

2005 Tithing Statement

A former member of our ward has asked for a copy of his tithing statement from 2005. Can this be done? Sure. In the US, MLS retains financial records for 3 years plus the current year. So in MLS you simply go to Finances | Tithing Settlement | Donor Statements. In the upper left corner is a drop-do...

LDSClerks Wiki

Some of you are familiar with the LDSClerks newsgroup, started by Kent Larsen. It's been a rather active newsgroup for several years. A couple of years ago, Kent added a companion wiki, located at http://www.mormonstoday.com/ldsclerks/index.php . There was a flurry of activity on the wiki for a few ...

Wiki for Clerks

This forum is a wonderful resource for clerks. Aside from the obvious problem that hardly anyone knows about it, the information posted is helpful and generally accurate; when it's not accurate, there is sufficient wisdom and experience present to quickly set the record straight. However, a forum is...

Deleting Custom Positions

i noticed when i add a calling title (example: 3rd counselor YW) and then go back at a later time to remove it, it won't allow me to. once it's there, it's there. i haven't found a way to remove it. am i missing something? I assume you are asking about custom positions added to an organization in M...

New Elders often move out

Another complication in the process of getting Melchizedek Priesthood ordinations recorded is the fact that many young men graduate from high school, get ordained an elder, and immediately go off to college. The student ward then requests the membership record, and so if the home ward wasn't really ...
