I believe "send a message" is limited to members of the ward council. Nothing you could assign to a communication specialist.

Make them a second secretary in an organization and they'll get access.

@scgallafent and @russellhltn,
I had an opportunity to talk with the ward membership clerk on Sunday and he uncovered the reason why the sister who attends our ward but lives in another ward wasn't able to be sent emails from our ward. I never would have thought of this, so I'm REALLY glad I caught him. The problem was that her email address was in the "household email" field, but not the "personal email" field. As soon as he copied it from household to personal email, I looked on LCR and I was able to send her a test email. She replied back to me Monday morning. So that's solved.

I have a question about the HTML email in LCR. Every time I press the "Enter" key, the cursor advances two lines. When I'm ending a paragraph and starting another, that's fine. But if I want to sign my name and then put my calling at the end of an email, I've got my name, then a blank line, then my calling. I haven't found a way to get rid of the blank line. Is there a way to have the "Enter" key only advance one line? I know that's picky, so I hope it's an easy fix. Thanks all!! I really appreciate all the assistance I receive here in the Forum.

I've noticed that extra line looks right when the email is received. Some editors will recognize a shift-key-enter to not add that extra space.

D'oh! Yeah, that's a known issue. Some things use "household", some use "personal". Single people have to have them in both places.

Hoo boy, just a clear sign that I may type the messages but I don't read them after they're received. Once again, thanks for the assistance. This group keeps me on my toes and helps me learn.

@chriswoodut: I just sent a message to my ward. I signed the letter with my name and calling, and the blank line was between them. Any other thoughts on how I can remove it, or change the line spacing for the enter key to a single line?? Thanks!

You could put a comma after your name and then your calling. This should keep it all on one line. In my experience, the system will automatically insert your name and calling into the bottom of the email when you send it (something like "this message was sent by 'Leader Name' whose calling is 'Leader Calling' ") - you have no control over that format so if you put your name in the text area, it will appear twice at the bottom of the email.

Did you try the shift-key + enter key instead of a just an enter? You will need to remove the enter first, so that everything is on one line and then do a shift-enter where you want the line break to be. Do a test and just send an email to just yourself to see what it looks like.

Well, @chriswoodut, you're considerably more techie than I am, but it reinforces the reason I like the folks on this forum. When I need a problem solved, this group comes through consistently! Thanks again, everyone.
